Who Loves Phi Sig?!

Hey sisters out there!
After the recent few weeks of negative posts, i just read about two days. I AM STILL SHOCKED!!! I just think If you love Phi Sigma let everyone know on this board!!!And for those people who bad mouth National then maybe you would thinka bout the rose above the door, that should apply here, too!!! I will Start --

Our national personnal is AWESOME!!! the ones inthe area are so great to us, they come to our initiations even if it's for only two girls! We get national mail about having a great semesters this semester by getting 11 new members. Yes, they maybe slow sometimes but that is sometimes!

My chapter is like a family away from my family! even though my family lives in the same town. We maynot be the #1 sorority, But we are the only sorority that doesn't have a Bad rep. on campus. We have the typical sorority girl, the brain, the artist, the hippie, the yeppie, the shy one and the party girl! So i love the differences in the group and that we all can be friends and love the sorority and care for each other. We are known as the fun ones on campus. And we know what is said in the chapter is kept in the chapter, i don't think some people on this board understand that!
Even though i have problems, and i think i wrote about it on the broad, it wasn't against my sorority i was upset and need a different point of view, Which helped! i have NEVER BEEN HAPPIER IN MY SORORITY!! And i am so happy to be able to all you my sisters!

I love what the national sorority stands for!! And people saying that they didn't get much history, taht is all we had !!! we learned our local and national history.

And for the people who badmouth Phi Sigma Sigma -- i'm sorry but how can you still look in the mirror and honestly call yourself a phi sigma!

Sapphire love Binks

I Love Phi Sigma Sigma

For all who have read my posts all over you know how much I love Phi Sigma Sigma and believe in what it stands for.

I have made some fantastic friends that I never would have even met before without the sorority. Phi Sigma Sigma gave me the opportunity to join as a 30 something graduate student which I don't know if any other sororities would have - their loss and my gain because I found Phi Sigma Sigma. It has given me an outlet to do community service where I may not have done as much if it was only myself doing it. I have acquired wonderful sisters and a family that goes beyond my blood family. I know that any where I go if I ever need help or anything I can always count on a Phi Sigma Sigmas help just as they can count on mine.

International (as Moosegirl pointed out we are in Canada too so we're not just National) personnel has always been supportive of us and approachable. I still remember the pride I felt when Past Grand Archon Janine Jacobs Goldberg came to our Installation banquet. All of Iota Gamma saw Theta Upsilon sisters and International Personnel standing and we couldn't figure out why until we realized that Janine had just walked in to the room. And she was absolutely one of the most fantastic people to talk to, funny, friendly, etc. I still remember the shock I felt meeting Supreme Council members for the first time at LTS. Anytime I've needed something, had a question, etc and I've contacted CO they have always been great in their response.

I love Phi Sigma Sigma and all I have left to say is
ONCE A PHI SIGMA SIGMA, ALWAYS A PHI SIGMA SIGMA

Ladies,

I think this is great. No matter where you go - you are going to find negative people, but that doesn't mean we have to buckle under them. Phi Sigma Sigma is a WONDERFUL organization and I would NOT be the person I am today if it wasn't for my experience as a Phi Sig sister. I have made the most wonderful friends that have carried on with me to my life as an alumna sister and I have the best memories - and I am making new ones as an alum.

It is great to see all of you pulling together to show support for our sorority and our national personnel, who by the way are exquisite people with big hearts, big smiles, and a ton of knowledge!!

I love my sisters everywhere, even those of you I have never and will never meet. If you chose Phi Sig and Phi Sig chose you - you must be spectacular.

Have a great day!

Leah

I had to respond to this post, and I hope no takes any offense to what I have to say. First off, I think its FANTASTIC that all of you have had a wonderful experience with Phi Sig. For myself, I would say that I would never ever take back the two and a half wonderful years I have spent here. I love my chapter sisters, I would do anything for any one of them.
However, I am from one of the chapters that petitioned for alumnae status. Do not think that this was an easy decision, because it wasn't. After weeks (and for our exec. board, all summer) of working to turn our chapter around, all of a sudden, it seemed like more and more demands were placed on our shoulders. For every step forward we took, we felt like we were getting pushed back. Many of our members were starting to buckle under the stress. Finally, we were advised to petition to go on alumnae status as a chapter. After hours of debating about what to do and many tears later, we agreed to do it. We all feel relieved from the stress and pressure we were under. However, there is still to some degree some bitterness.
I still love Phi Sigma Sigma and what it stands for. However, many of us feel like we were screwed out of our collegiate experience(especially the girls we initiated last spring). I am sure that had things been different and I still had an active chapter, I would be all for national. But unless you went through what we went through, you can not possibly know what it was like to get to a point when you wanted to GIVE your charter back. Belive me when that happens, it becomes really easy to badmouth those who you feel were responsible.
If you were to meet me, I don't think you would find me to be a negative person. Yet, even today it is really hard for me to be positive on the subject. It's hard to think that I'll never get to see initiation or any of our other wonderful rituals as an undergrad again. Sorry this post is so long, feel free to PM me if you wish..

I love Phi Sigma Sigma

I think a lot of us feel this way, but I could be a part of no other sorority knowing what I have in Phi Sig. Yes it is tough sometimes, and we have all been frustrated. But we know what Phi Sig stands for, Inclusiveness, Lifelong Learning, and Leadership through service. These are the things that I stand for. I hope to live up to these standards for the rest of my life.

LITP Always,

Terri
