Exclamation Rush ideas

Hey guys,

I was wondering if all you out there could help us out with some ideas for Rush Themes. At my school, Knox College, we do Rush once a year, right after x-mas break, which is coming up fast. We're drawing blanks whenever we try to think of good rush themes and t-shirts.

Last year we went with a more formal rush theme "Men Of Honor" type thing, but this year we're looking for a little more fun of a theme. We're actually implementing the values based rush (sort of), but we don't want it all to get too heavy, so we want the theme to be something a little laid back, which is the way our chapter is.

If you guys have any past themes that you'd like to pass on, I'd really appreciate it. We need some suggestions to get us going.

Thanks,
Delta Theta 1156

It kind of depends on how your rush works.. Do guys just randomly show up at your house or are you supposed to provide some structured programming for a structured visit?

You MIGHT try to do some sort of LEAD session with them there. Take something from LEAD I or II. There are some cool things in the Teambuilding session.

Dave Mainella might actually be able to provide you with some ideas. HQ will give you his contact info. He's a cool guy to talk to and knows what he's talking about.

Good luck!

Our Rush

Our rush takes place over a two week period. During each week night, one of the five fraternities on our campus has an event. So, Sigma Nu will have two events over the two weeks. Our events are "Sigma Cue" which is a pool, darts, and ping pong tourny that we buy a shit load of McDonalds, Taco Bell and Pizza Hut for. Our other event is "Godfather" where we have a pasta dinner, dress up like the mafia, and have a skit that runs through the meal where we do some mafia like stuff. Then we get serious and share some insights as to why our hosue is different, and why people should join. This is followed by a casino in our house.

So, that's how our rush works. We usually have a theme for the entire rush period, and give out T-shirts with the theme on it and related images. That's what we're trying to come up with right now. Any help would be great.

I remember a t-shirt (or something) that I saw at Grand Chapter... He who doesn't stand for anything falls for anything.

Something like that... something that can plug right into VBR.

WE actually were thinking about "Walk in our footsteps or stand in our shadow", but we are really going for something a little less serious, something a little more fun.
