Dolly was such an inspiring legend to many people.

I first recall her from Porter Wagoner"s 1960s tv show, eagerly selling giant boxes of Breeze Detergent...the boxes including giant bath towels among their powdered contents!

Her version of her song "I Will Always Love You" came across as gentle and sweet, not the big blast Whitney Houston gave it.

Earlier this past week, I learned she had ELEVEN SIBLINGS from a tv quiz show.

RIP, and deservedly so.

I remember one of the early movies I saw as a kid was 9-5 and I thought she was brilliant. I will always love you, I remember the Whitney Houston version of it and was shocked to realized it was a cover of one of Dolly's songs. She was a remarkable woman who gave so much of herself to this world to make it better. Her love of all people was always on display.

I rarely cry when a celeb passes, but she was such a bright light, a true angel on earth. She has done so much good. The world is a bit dimmer today.

I thought she was a riot in Steel Magnolias.

Quite simply, Dolly Parton made even the least of us feel accepted and valued…
