Greek Councils?
Hello there,
My name is Shannon. I am a member of Kappa Delta Sorority. While I was at the University of Alabama in Huntsville, me and the IFC president started a Greek Council... I left about 3 months later. I wasn't able to get into the real swing of things... However, I know what it was about.
I am looking to try to start another Greek Council at my new school, Union University.. but would like some input from you guys and gals...
If you can give me some information about your greek councils, if you have them... that would be great. Thank you so much!
Seeking His Heart,
Shannon Kish

We have the fraternity sorority council at my school. It is the organization that is supposed to bind all the greeks on campus together. Kinda like NPC for the whole greek system. If an organization wants to join they have to have at least 10 members, show how their organization will be different, tell how they will get members, their values and ideals etc.. I know it takes a while to do everything required to belong. The council runs greek week, presents, our annual all greek BBQ, and at least one philinthropic event a year, I believe.

Shannon,
I am currently the GC Pres here at my school. Our council has 2 delegates from each chapter (21 chapters at GSU), and 2 from each council (IFC, NPC, NPHC, and Multi-Cultural).
Basically, we are in charge of planning Greek Week, Greek Awards, getting greeks involved for Homecoming, doing a Go Greek Pep Rally type thing for incoming freshman.
I f you have any questions, pm me.
