New season of Sorority Life scoop (UNCONFIRMED)

I read on another message board who the fraternity and sorority are that were chosen for the new season. They are both (currently) local.

The sorority is Delta Xi Omega, they have been around since 1988.

The fraternity is Sigma Chi Omega, they have been around since 1999. According to their website, they were formed with the goal of becoming a Sigma Chi chapter but Sigma Chi decided not to expand to UB at this time. Some cute guys, just a little too clean cut for me.

(wow my website link worked...I'm excited! )

There is also a multicultural fraternity that is named Sigma Chi Omega. I wonder how that fraternity is going to feel when they see their name all over MTV. I hope that they don't give the other fraternity a bad name.

Hopefully the sorority's being 14 years old will mean that it has some RM procedures in place (to say the least of what other things Sigma seems to be lacking).

Furthermore, I hope that every single one of these girls sits down and watches this season so that they can understand (1) exactly what they've gotten themselves into, and (2) which mistakes they need to learn from.

taste of their own meds...

I would love for a group to get picked for this show and totally play MTV...i.e, get people to go out for rush who put across the "MTV facade" of hypersexuality and drama queenism (is that a word?) to MTV...get picked by the producers...and then go on the show and just study, do intramurals, philanthropy...in short, create zero drama.

I know that's what my chapter would do.

spewiggs, thanks for the confirm.

Hi there
actually my brother goes to UB and is in a fraternity(he asked me to not reveal which one) and while I am not sure about the fraternity doing the show, he said he can be quite sure that MTV has no say in the sorority pledges. Maybe MTV learned its lesson from the last season whith sorority life, and the more dramitized will be the fraternity life. But I really don't know, sorry. And who knows if hes telling the truth, he says he is but you never know......

Kind of interesting that MTV wants pledges over the age of 21. I guess they want to ensure the drama factor, even if they do not pick the pledges. Plus, it struck me as kind of odd that the pledges were that old in the current Sorority Life. It just isn't typical (from what I've seen) to see a house that has so many non-freshman pledges.

Drama factor, and they don't want the headaches of showing underagers drinking. On RW the casts are instructed that if they are drinking alcoholic beverages, they have to pour it into an unmarked cup.

I agree though, even in our freshmen-can't-pledge semesters, we NEVER had a pledge class where everyone was 21. If they were smart, they would show true "sorority life" and just focus on 6 over 21 sisters, leave the pledges out of it.
