Thumbs down Same old boring sales at Macy's and Hecht's!

It just seems like every other weekend Macy's and Hecht's stores in Northern Virginia have the worst merchandise on sale. I can't believe how they put the same old junk on sale weekend after weekend and expect a sista to buy their merchandise.

I find that I have better luck shopping in the smaller stores, boutiques or even the outlet malls. And another thing I don't want to walk around with the same stuff as everyone else. Sorry that I had to vent but the buyers of some of these department stores really need to get with the program. Am I the only one with this problem?

I do understand where you are coming from...some of that crap is old and bust-down, not to mention oh so not cute. I have never been to an outlet mall ( I heard that they are off the hook) and boutiques are cool to....I know when stores dont have want, or I'm too broke to buy stuff, I jazz up my old stuff, or simply make something on my own....creativity is key! -Yemaya-

I am beginning to feel the same way! I don't like wearing what I see everyone else wearing. I saw a lady with my same Hecht's suit at my high school reunion last fall and another lady at my school with the same suit but different two-tone colors within the same week.

These department stores don't realize that African American women bring in millions of dollars in revenues in sales from shopping we are their number one customers and they're taking us for granted. Once again, if we pull or black dollars out of their stores then maybe they will make their buyers take a more serious approach when purchasing merchandise for their stores. I get sick and tired of traveling to Tysons I and II because they are the two malls that provide high quality merchandise for the rich folks in Greater Washington metro area.

And when you walk into their stores they don't even let you get in the store before their asking if they can help you. I'm not a thief and I have money to shop in their store. That really sets-me-off. Sorry, I'm still pretty upset about the injustice of it all.

I agree with you soRHOr. There's a store called Martin's Footnotes and Fashions in my area and when you walk in the store they are up in your face asking you if you need help before you get in the store and start shopping. So I hardly ever go in there unless it's my last resort to find an outfit.
