Exclamation Rush Nightmares!

I originally posted this on the Greek Life board, so I didn't scare away any prospective rushees. But, anyway, I was kinda told to move it here, so here it is again!

I really gotta stop posting so much. I just have so much to say! Sorry, and I hope you can all put up with me while I'm a newbie to the boards.
has anyone had any formal rush nightmares? I'd like to tell you all about mine. Formal Rush took place over three days at our school. I was pretty excited when I was given some information on sororities. I'd always thought they were 'bad,' but after talking with some of the sisters from each sorority, I decided to rush. I was a freshman at the time. Fairly shy, yet willing to adapt and meet new people. I must say, I definately acted like myself; once I warmed up to people, I was laughing, joking, and having a good time with the rest of them. I had just come off a sprained knee injury from softball, so I couldn't participate in some of the events, which made me feel bad. A dog had also bitten my right hand, so I shook hands with my left hand. As dumb as it may sound, I wonder if it affected my rushing at all... Anyway, it got down to two sororities that I was really interested in: Kappa Delta, my first pick, and Alpha Gamma Delta, my second. After the second day of Rushing, I went to therapy for my knee, and when I returned home, there was a message for me on the machine. "You haven't been offered a bid by any of the sororities. You don't have to come back tomorrow." I was shocked. It wouldn't have been so bad if they hadn't led me to believe I'd get a bid to at least ONE! I, with my terrible temper, hit a solid brick wall, full force, with a closed fist. Ow. I promised myself I'd never rush again.

Then, I returned to school, finding that all of the girls I'd become close to had gotten a bid, all except for me. I was SURE I would never rush again.

To this day, I don't know what happened to cause me not to get a bid... But earlier this year, I became pretty close friends with one of the KD sisters. She encouraged me to rush informally, and I finally broke down and did it. I'm very glad I did, too. I was initiated in April, of this year, and I still think it's one of the best decisions I've made! Thanks!!

Sorry for the long story, needed to get it out of my system.

AOT!
