Question Odd Jobs... Have you had one?

I've been meaning to start this thread ever since Bubbles Malone was born! lol

What's the oddest job you've ever had? I know we have all done some crazy mess tryin' to get some money, lol. Here is mine.

I went to one of those "Management" interviews, right? Well, come to find out, it was canvasing. Well, after the 1st day I spent with the people, I felt kinda good about the job. The money was paid in cash every day, tax free. I figured, I could do this. So the next day (after having soaked my feet for hours the night before), I got up and went again. Their morning routine was AWESOMELY INSPIRING! I was like, cool, let's do this. But I didn't have as much fun that day. I went one more day, then it was the weekend. Over the weekend, I was like, wtf are you doing? Didn't go back!

Now, why I did this for three days and never Cutco or Kirby (went to the informational meetings, though), I have no idea.

So I wanna know what yall have done crazy for some money.

Weird jobs

Ideal08, I did the Kirby thing for about a week and that was all that I can take.

I also worked for a company whose purpose was to count the inventory of different stores (supermarket, clothing stores, etc.). I did that as a summer job while in college. I feel sorry for whoever decides to work there for more than 6 months to 1 year Counting inventory at 7:30 in the morning is not my idea of a dream job.

I was thinking about being a Mystery Shopper in my spare time. I hear that you don't have to do it at any specific times or anything. When I worked in the "retail" industry, I was mystery shopped once (and I got good ratings, might I add! ) It just teaches you that you always have to be on point. I would love to play it cool at some of the businesses down here. I'm sure that parent companies, etc. would love to know some of the nonsense that goes on in their regional stores. I am also sure that GMs, etc. would love to know too. I know that I have reported stuff to managers, etc. before, but being that they are usually cool with the employees (instead of having a stricter, solid working environment), they probably don't even scold the employees.

Has anyone in here been a mystery shopper or is one now? I need to know how to get in with it.

I was a telemarketer in high school.. the people I worked with were really strange --this was their career!

I was selling timeshares--every hour the person that made the most sales got canned ham or a frozen turkey..LOL and those poor people would almost fight over it when there was a tie!

Then one day my boss said that they had a surprise of us all..loaves of white bread..they were in a frantic heat over this..
one lady told me, "girl you beter get that bread and take it home, your mother won't have to buy no bread when she makes groceries"

I laughed then but those were some souls

I'm currently working as a telemarketer too!! The first couple of weeks was ok because I was to preoccupied with the money and things that I would need for the upcoming school year. Now my attitude has totally changed, its to the point that I just don't give of !!! Sadly the job is going to relocate in the middle of Sept. I really feel bad for the people who make an living from this job and they take it very serious. I have never been so anxious to leave a job and go back to school !!
