is this tacky?
ok.
My school is small. Anyways, my chapter is hardly known on campus b/c we are so new. Our recruitement is 2 weeks into school. So would it be tacky, if i wore my AST letters or a sorority shirt every day to class until recruitement starts? I have a few classes that will be majority freshman and since i can't talk to them i thought it would be good just for them to see my letter. So is that tacky or not?

no, not tacky at all..
at my school all greeks wear letters on thursdays no matter what, its mandatory. most wear them at least two other times a week. thats AFTER recruitment. the greek systems isn't recognized by our campus, so while we are rushing most of us wear letters every week day.
best of luck!

Not tacky at all. In fact, we were required to wear sorority shirts everyday before rush (there was usually a week and a half of school before rush). We even had matching t-shirts printed to wear, one for each school day of the week prior to rush. The more you can get your letters into their heads, the better. And it might prompt some of the freshman in your classes to ask questions.

As long as it doesn't violate any campus rules regarding recruitment, your entire sorority should wear letters daily and display letters in the windows and doors in the dorms. Good luck!

go for it. i wish i had that many letter shirts that i could go 2 weeks without feeling like a scrub...lol. anyway, that is the best way to get your name out there. i remember when i rushed the only way i knew there was a sae chapter on my campus was because this guy in my class wore his rush shirt all the time.

That sounds like a good way to get the word out. Plus you can be a walking advertisement for the ladies of AST. They can see you, see how you handle yourself, and they can look and say, hey, she seems cool, I might have to check out AST to see what they have to offer. Sort of a "silent bidding" LOL (I'm corny)

As everyone else has said, go for it! It is excellent publicity for your org right before recruitment.
Good luck! I hope you have a very successful rush!

At my school we are basically required to wear letters before and during recruitment (this is the first year classes are starting before recruitment). It's because we are not allowed to talk to the PNMs, and they can't talk to us. So if we are wearing letters, it lets the PNMs know to stay away (geez, that sounds terrible, but y'all get the point - I hope. )

TACKY HELL WEAR THEM!!!!!
I wish i could get my guys to wear Letters/Colors!
I am working with a guy fro the Kansas City Area to do Polo Shirts and Hats for a heck of a lot Cheaper so they can wear them instead of beer shirts, THF, Nike or what the F&^K ever but show who they are!
One of the most impressive sights was at a football game when the PSK guys who were the newest on campus ALL wore their letters!
Not another Greek Org. Did!
I damn sure pointed it out to my guys!
