New Website?

So when I went to the DZ website, it said Default Redirect Page and then went to the opening page of the site. So does that mean that they are working on redoing the page or something? Try it and see what I mean.

I sure hope they are, 'cause it could look tons better!

I got to the website okay, but when I looked on the address bar, it said "default". Maybe we are getting a new page!

Nope, sorry guys. The redirect is a ".asp" coding that redirects you back to the homepage at any time you click your "back" button in your browser.

The web site was highly praised at the Convention for usability and coverage. I don't think we will be getting a new one anytime soon. I guess we can be lucky that we can one at all

In that case, I vote to keep the format the same, but update the appearance.

Talking

Hi gals,
I think what is important to understand about our website is that it's an information gathering stop on the DZ superhighway It serves a purpose, mainly to be a supplement to our LAMP, an online store, provide reports and sister information on the "sisters only" section of the site, and to give potentional members the facts on our sorority. I think if we look beyond the appearance, and see what it provides us beyond a "pretty picture", we could realize that it's a beneficial product of HQ to all of us.

I don't think a potential member would see our site and think "ew, old school design, I want nothing to do with DZ". Hopefully they would take some mental notes about our facts, and let the Recruitment process at their college do the rest of the "rushing" for them. If they based their opinions on DZ soley on the design of our website, I wouldn't want them as sisters. Imagine how they would judge other sisters...on looks, not what's in their hearts!

I do imagine that somewhere down the road, the web site may very well get a face-lift, however, if any of you program your own web sites, you know the time committment involved, and it's not a light load

I guess I think of it this way. Since we know that this won't go into the hands of a volunteer, which would you rather have HQ spend her money and time on (as if there was extra money to go around)...redoing our website...or hiring one more chapter consultant to assist our collegians, sending 5 competent and derserving sisters to Convention to train as CCDs, expand our sorority to one more campus, etc.

I agree that the site does look dated, however, I think we have better things to spend our money on
