Clues for big/lil sisters
I was wondering if anyone had any creative ways to write clues for their lil sis. I will hopefully have a lil sis this fall and have no clue how to wirte creative fun clues without totally giving who i am away. Any ideas?

My big had another sister write the clues and give clues that would make me think that it was her. I knew who my big sis was going to be way ahead of time... and she knew that I was disappointed that it wasn't going to be a surprise, so she did that to try to surprise me... and it worked!

The most popular clue in my chapter, used by at least a couple bigs every semester, is: "I have <insert number of chapter members here> sisters!"
Cute clues your little wouldn't guess could include your shoe size, hometown (if a lot of sisters are from your town), childhood pets, favorite movie, favorite food... just don't do hair color unless everyone in your house has the same hair color... that one always seems to be a dead giveaway!

For my little, I used the clues that described me, my big sister, my grand big, and my great grand big that had been passed down through the years. Plus we tossed in a few randoms. They had to do with # and kinds of pets, biological family history, personal history facts, intersts, favorite/least favorite foods/fraternities/etc....but it turns out confusing because everything ends up contridicting each other.

One of the families in my house has a tradition of having one clue that is a blatant lie. My big used very vague references to things she liked. In one, she said "i know the shape of hearts" to say that she is a backstreet boys fan and that "shape of my heart" is her favorite song.

For my first Little I just wrote down completely random, often contradictory things. For my second, I made the clues "ransom style"--cutting out individual letters and phrases and glueing them to things. I blatantly lied through my teeth the whole time so she would think it was someone else. It was really funny because this Little had been one of my best friends at school for the past 3 years, and she had no idea it was me.

One of my sisters did something for her little that was really cute and unique... With each letter that she wrote to her little sister, she would include a little piece of paper with a letter on it... She told her little that she was giving her a clue as to who she was...by spelling out her name, her little just had to put all the letters together, like a puzzle. Since her little sister was almost positive that she knew who her big was, the first few letters spelled out that sisters name (the one that she thought was her big, that is) and then she started to spell someone else's name entirely, but used the similar letters first.
I don't know if I explained that well...just ask if I confused you and I'll try to make it clearer.

My big gave me clues about all her closest girls in the chapter. She twisted everything around, and in the end once she told me everything it all fit together. And the very last clue given on the night of revealing is passed down through my family, so when me and my best friend in the pledge class got the same last clue we knew we were in the same family. It was really cute and creative!

My clues for my little were all cards I made with multiple choice questions about me on the outside (ex. "When I was little, I wanted to grow up to be (a) a ballerina (b) a police man (c) a pet store owner or (d) a doctor") Then, on the inside of the card it had the right answer and more elaboration on that fact about me...
One of my friends gave her little a piece of magnetic poetry with each clue, and by the end of the week she had spelled out a poem. I also know someone who cut out a hand shape and folded it into the sign laguage symbol for "I Love You" and attached it to each clue (her little worked as a sign languge interpreter).

I gave my little a "clue" with like 5 different facts then told her only one was true, she would have to figure out which one

All of my clues for my little were true. I just tried to throw her off, by making sure that some of them would be true for several of the sisters. I told her that I lived in Virginia Beach. (Several of us commute to ODU.) I graduated from the same high school as a sister that way I was throwing her off, so I thought.
On the second day of clues, I put her clues in balloons. She had to pop them to get to her clues!!! Some of her gifts also were dead give aways also, once she found out who I was, our sisters explained why that was so....

Pick another sister that you have facts in common with and use her as a decoy.
One of my sisters did this to her Teddybuddy and used me. We are both tall, we both grew up on dairy farms, and there were a few more, but I forget what. Also use generic clues, "I wear a sorority colored coat" (in PA, a lot of the sororities have jackets), or I am a sister of GLO . They are corny, but don't give you away!
Good luck and have fun with your future little!

i loved making up poems for my cross little telling him things like i was a girl (there was only two guys in tbs at the time) and other random things that couldnt be nailed down to me, my favorite one though was "i'm not a god or an enigma, i'm just a sister of tau beta sigma"

what i did for mine was get another brother to buy an item (sticker or keychain, whatever) with his credit card, and I "accidentally" leave it in the bag with the item... then give out other clues but make them vague. It works very well. I think it could be applied for big/little sisters also.

cute idea to get to know your little one
One girl that got a little sis this semester made herself an AIM name. It was something like TriSigmaBigSis or something like that. They were able to talk online and really built a strong bond while still maintaining the surprise! I wish I would have thought of that!
