are you rushing the first week in the fall? or does your college hold rush after christmas break? if rush is in january, then i bet your high school GPA won't matter at all. they'll look at your grades from the first semester of college.
if you are rushing right away in the fall, i'm not sure if summer school classes will help your high school GPA. since you will already have graduated high school, i don't see how those additional courses can be factored in if what they're looking at is your high school (not college) GPA.
how low is your high school GPA, anyhow? if it was good enough that you got into college, you are probably all right. during rush, GPAs are used in the initial stages to decide which rushees just won't cut it academically. those girls are released, and after that, the remaining girls are judged on the basis of other things, like personality, activities, service, etc. if you make the official cutoff to be 'eligible for rush,' then you are probably fine. some sororities at my school recommend that rushees have slightly higher GPAs than the minimum (which the school sets at 2.0), like 2.25 or 2.33. keep in mind, a girl's GPA is usually not a major factor in who the sororities decide to give bids to--it's really how much they like the girl as a person, as long as she meets minimal academic standards.
my college holds rush in january, and only our college grades are looked at. they don't have to be that great in order to rush--only like a 2.0 to be eligible--which is FAR below the women's average at my college.
i'm not sure what the cutoffs are at schools that look at high school GPAs for rush.
