My dd will be a PNM Fall of 2016 and will be rushing at a large Southern school. Just recently she has gotten several followers on Instagram from girls in different sororities from her future school. These are girls she definitely doesn't know and we are sure that they are just checking her social media because they have heard she is coming. Should she politely follow them back or does this look strange because she doesn't know them? She wants to be friendly but isn't sure of the boundaries to cross or not.
If these unknown girls are following her, I don't see any reason for your DD not to follow them back if she wants to. I think it works both ways. But even better is for your DD to follow the Instagram accounts of each sorority at her future school. She can find out more about each chapter by seeing what they post throughout the year.
I'm with Titchou - no, don't follow those women back. FloMo Mom, for a PNM it doesn't work both ways and there are plenty of reasons not to, actually. She can follow the FB pages and Instagrams of the chapters, if those are public. Tumblr accounts too.
