Can you go back?

Question: Is there redemption from saying something or some things that are really, really stupid on GC?

On the one hand, everyone has bad days where they say things they don't really mean. And not everyone is an English major who analyzes their words particularly carefully because they caer how it'll come off.

On the other, this is the internet, where all we know is what you write. We have no means to evaluate the things you really do mean and the things you just say, because we don't know you. How can people not remember EVERYTHING and take that into account? How can they not let those things color their 'opinions' of 'you' and how they respond or do not respond to your future posts?

So that is my question: after saying something outrageously dumb or mean or arrogant, or all of the above can you be considered cool peeps again? Will GC people ever forget what you said?
