Actually there is a book that i now of it's called "Eating the Cheshire Cat" it's basically a book that follows three girls from childhood through their college experience at the University of Alabama where i go to school. The whole book really concentrates on rush at Alabama and how insane it is. I loved the book and thought that it was a great. It's pretty dark in some places but it is totally worth reading if you want something to read this summer. Hope this helps.

Theta love,
Heather~

P.S. The authors name is Helen Ellis

Just about anything by Anne Rivers Siddons, who was a TriDelt at Auburn. The one that's almost totally about sorority life is Heartbreak Hotel.

The Pledge by Rob Kean deals with a local fraternity at a small New England College. Not exactly flattering with regard to this one fraternity -- think The Skulls meets The Firm -- but a good summer read. You can read about it at amazon.com here:

The Pledge was sooooo freaking good.

Sorority Sisters was a decent book about five African American women who pledge a sorority.

The Pledge is an awesome book, I suggest everyone read it. One gets so wrapped up in it, it is difficult to put it down. I actually got it from the Public Library and read it a second time.

Although Greek life is secondary to the plot, WELCOME TO THE WORLD, BABY GIRL! by Fannie Flagg contains at least one Greek character (a Kappa!)

LEGALLY BLONDE by Amanda Brown

hmmm...that's all the fiction I can think of for now, I'll post later if I come up with any more.

There is the Sorority Sisters series (pic is above).
You can find some sorority oriented stories in the "Sweet Valley University" series too.
And of course, I think there are a few horror stories by R.L. Stine....covering "evil" sororities of course... sigh.....

Who wrote "The New Girls" and is it still in print? I'm having a heck of a time trying to find it (and I can't get on amazon's site for some reason right now!)

TIA,
Christin

"Murder Can Wreck Your Reunion" is part of a mystery series by Selma Eichler. In this book, the main character's niece is at a sorority reunion when one of her sisters is killed... this is a really good (and funny) series.

Thanks for all of the other book listings, I have been trying to find books about sorority life.

"The Outer Banks" by Anne Rivers Siddons...the main characters are in a sorority---rumor has it that the initiation ceremony they do in the book is modeled after a real sorority (not mine, though...). It does mention some real sororities & fraternities.

It's a chick book though....

There's a book called "Pledge Brothers" about a group of friends pledging a BGLO. It talks about their process of getting online, pledging, and the whole drama that ensues during and after. It's worth checking out.
