				Movies portraying greek life

OK people I am relying on all of your fantastic memories here. I am doing a presentation about the media's portrayal of greek life for my media research class, what does this have to do you you ask ?? Well... I need you to tell me:
1st off if you had a negative image of greek life before you rushed, or if you always wanted rush despite (or maybe because of) what you had seen about greek life in movies, news reports etc...
#2 I also need you to tell me any movies that have greek life in them.. ( I know legally blonde, animal house, the nerds series) Can you help me out with some more...also it'd be great if they were films that are out on video/dvd already as I may want to show clips of them during my presentation.
  THANK YOU ALL !!!

				Some Greek portrayed movies

There was that one movie with Tori Spelling, can't remember what it's called but it's all about her pledging a sorority. Terrible movie, but many of us watched it.

Sorority boys just came out, didn't see that.

Van Wilder had Greek portrayal in it.

Road Trip

School Ties

Rob Lowe was Greek in St. Elmo's Fire

PCU

School Daze

Other Greek Movies...
Little Sister (1992) Fraternity Vacation (1985) Legally Blone (2001)
Can't Hardly Wait (1998) Dead Man on Campus (1998) Scream 2 (1998)
The House on Sorority Row (1983)

No movies played a part in my decision to pledge or rush a sorority.

I was watching a mid 80's movie called "Where the Boys Are" and it's all about Ft. Lauderdale at Spring Break. Anyhow, there was a Sigma Chi cap on one guy, and an SAE shirt of another guy. They weren't doing anything too terrible, just watching a dance competition and clapping along with the crowd.

There was that movie with Joshua Jackson and Paul whatever his name is (Fast and the Furious) in "The Skulls", but they were a secret society, more so than being a "Greek letter" org.

First, I had a somewhat neg view of greek life prior to my greek experience. due to what was on tv. I didnt really pay much attention to it all, but if I did I know it would have been negative.

Second, lets not forget "Skulls". That is probably to most recent. Also, I remember one about these girls one of which was scared of heights and had to hang this banner up on this balcony. Anyway she fell and died. I cant remember the name of the movie, it was something like "scared to (something). Anyone know which one I am talking about?

I appreciate all of your responses !! Hopefully I can educate this class, on my VERY VERY Anit-greek campus about greek life and that's it's not like they hear about on the news or see portrayed in movies. Actually in doing some of the research for this project I did find a few TV shows.. (not really any movies however) that portrayed greeks in a positive way

The skulls is definately more on the secret society aspect of things. However, there are a lot of cool fraternal things despite the fact that it's made out to make The Order of Skull and Bones look like something negative. If anyone is interested in learning more about bonesmen pm me and we'll talk. I did recently see Sorority Boys and I thought that it was hilarious. I didn't like the way they made Greeks seem like a bunch of %$#%$#. The scene were the guys in drag start fencing with dildos was absolutely hilarious. Being a fencer myself, I really got a kick out of the scene. I think that the movie was intended to be more of a comedy than anything else.

To me, there is only ONE movie that will always rule in my decision to go Greek- that movie is "National Lampoon's Animal House"!!!! In my opinion, one of the top 10 funniest movies of all time-so many great memories-I encorage every Greek and wannabe Greek to watch it. What a great cast as well (if you ever play the "six degrees of Kevin Bacon" game, well he is in this movie as well).

Let's not forget "Legally Blonde" (OK, I'm studying for the LSAT, so that's where my mind is). Reese Witherspoon's character is a member of Delta Nu sorority (I think).

Yes, Reese Witherspoon's character was a Delta Nu. I know this because I have seen the movie about 15 times.

I'm in the middle of watching "Night of the Creeps". It's about a fraternity hazing gone wrong. LOL. It's really, really bad! I was surprised they got away with refering to a sorority as Kappa Delta. The sorority's full name is Kappa Delta Sigma, but during the whole movie it's only known as KD.

I actually saw this. It was on TMC about 3 months ago. Quite interesting and funny to see people in the 30's refering to 'paddeling" and such. It did portray all the negative stereotypes, but they were mostly true then. I cant imagine being greek 75 years ago.
