Star Wars?
I dont get it.
Who the hell waits in line 4 hours to see any movie?
Why would you camp out to see a movie?
If any of you girls are dating a guy that has seen Star Wars 47 times, owns action figures, toy light sabers, or costumes, you should dump these guys immediately. I think these guys should also seek help.

That's nothing - there are geeks out there who have camped out since January to get tickets...

Saw it last night - so awesome . Ordered the tickets the night before online - got to the theater an hour and a half beforer it began and ended up in the Digital theatre by total fluke. I've heard there's only one digital theatre in Canada, but I can't believe that Vancouver has one and TO doesn't.

I had to use a jedi mind trick to see it. . . They were like: The theatre is sold out for all shows . . . I responded: Maybe there is room for just two more and maybe you should let us in for free. . . They echoed: Maybe there is room for two more, maybe we will let you in for free . . .
So anyway, I got to see it last night. It was fun. No real depth, and I can't say I cared much about the characters but the effects were cool.
There was a significant age difference between the two main characters that were in love . . . did anyone think about that?

That was quite rude. I'm no huge star wars fan myself...but I would nearly guarentee that there is something that you like, yet you have no logic for doing so other than it really entertains you.
Who the Hell does it?
A ton of very normal people who enjoy that sort of thing. Why must you put what they have fun doing down so much. That's very quite rude and elitist of you. I'm sorry, but it offends me that you're saying you're so normal, and that those people are so weird. So should all the guys dump all their girls who own $200 purses, cause who the hell spends $200 on a bag to carry their things when they could get one for $15.

My only question is, does Ewan McGregor get naked for any reason? Rowr!!
I think that Amidala was VERY young when she was queen in the 1st movie - like 14. Anakin was around 9. So the age difference is really not that huge. It just looks worse because Natalie Portman looks the same age she did in the first movie.

Jim Rome has clowned on the campers for Star Wars tickets during his national sports talk radio show.

I watched it yesterday... caught the Matinée before the K-12 grade schools let out. No line, got good seats, it was very nice.
As for the people that came with the light sabres, who clapped during the movie and cheered in the fight scenes...
Well.. To each his own. If nothing else it adds to the atmosphere. Hard to get the same entertainment value for $11 (GF's ticket and mine).

There was one part of the movie at the end where people started clapping and shouted "Go Yoda!" . . but it was kind of cool. Yoda kicked ass in this movie . . .
33 girl I believe you are correct, Queen Amidala was supposed to be like 12 in the first movie and Annakin was like 8. But she looked like a 12 that would send us boys to jail for statutory rape . Damn . . .
But seriously, she looked 20ish in the first movie so it was kind of like a 30 year old girl deciding to marry an 18 year old boy . . .

We didn't wait at all, and no saber carrying people were there. We went on Thursday at 1:15 and it was a great flick. Better than the first one...really enjoyed it.
Yoda was funny, I think more people laughed than clapped.

Conan O'brien
Anyone catch the talking dog skit last night...?
Triumph chewed into some of these guys who had been waiting in line for days. I felt sorry for some of these poor bastards, taking his abuse like a defenceless animal.
I mean i did laugh, but jezz he was giving it to them pretty badly. Saying stuff like "this is what a nerd circle-jerk looks like" when the camera panned to a group of guys hitting eachother with plastic life swords.

Re: Conan O'brien
I think I laughed so hard at that skit because it WAS so mean. . . I was glad I wasn't "That guy" there in line. They were pretty good sports about it, or too weak to do anything or say anything back. Passive victims, it made me want to be mean to them.
Favorite lines by the dog were:
"Have you ever talked to a girl that didn't ask for your credit card number first?"
"Oh, so you are giving birth to a little nerd (to a pregnant woman)? In 6 weeks? Well that is the last time he will ever see female genitalia . . ."
(to the crowd) "The first question is: What was Han Solo frozen in? (the crowd answers correctly)" The dog replies," No! The correct answer is: Who gives a shit!."
The whole skit had me rolling.
