BET Step-Off
Today was the most entertaining and competitive of the competitions. I must give props to the Sigmas for putting on a good show. They threw everything but the kitchen sink in that performance. I find it a little disconcerting that they have a non-Black as the spokesman for their organization, but that is Sigma.
The Bruhs were as I expected. HYPED, ENTHUSED, PRECISE, and above all, MANLY. To each his own and I don't expect the Bruhs to get the popular vote (because we never do and the general public is usually overwhelmed by gimmicktry), but Ubong and Crew represented the FRAT well. ROOO Bruhs

The BRUZ THREW DOWN YESTERDAY!!!!!!!!! Made THIS ole School Bruh proud.
Incidently I know (or knew) that White Sigma. he went to Montclair State in Jersey. He grew up around Black people and if you closed your eyes while he was talking to you you would think he was black. He's a good person. But I must agree they should have had a Black spokesman with it being a Black Fraternity.

I just LOVE my Bruhs!
I just want to give congrads to my Bruh's on settin it out on BET! The Sigma's did well also. But personally, I can't stomach any other frat stepping. Maybe its me. For example, at the last Michigan State University step show, the Alpha's stepped in gold skirts (I am not playin'!)And compared to Omega, well everyone elese comes off a little feminine. That's my opinion. Just let me say again I love my Bruh's!
In Coleman Love..

SHU, whats up 2nd D Dawg. I feel you. I met a white Sigma in the Walmart yesterday. Although I have met quite a few in my day, it is still strange. Dude had on dress clothes and a PBS hat.
Ubong from Mu chapter brought the funk as the showdog. I always love to see the Deltas step too.

Thanks for your support Brother O.A.
Some people assume that smoke and mirrors are the real thing. Some people taste the sizzle but miss the MEAT. Omegas understand that while the general populace doesn't. Bruhs were unanimous in their support of how are show represented the essence of Omega. Mad enthusiasm, unadulterated funk, precision, no gimmicks, straight, no chaser stepping. The Bruhs will always be winners when they refuse to compromise for the masses. To represent in the Omega Spirit is a greater victory than the approval of the uninitiated.
The general public is jaded and are easily wowed by novelties. To have GDI's (many non-collegiate) voting on who are the best steppers is ridiculous. I hope that y'all whup 'em.
BTW, I have no sour grapes nor enmity toward Sigma. They did their thing the Sigma way and it wins for them. Congrats

It is refreshing to know that no matter where you go, you can depend on the Omegas to STEP. And, as everyone knows, throws a hop like an Omega. Doggy, you know that to a whole lot of people, the purple and gold make the show, and no show is a show until Omega Psi Phi has repped it.
Question: Does everybody use gold boots now? Is nothing sacred?

I can only state that to bite someone else's style in my era was suicide. Another org could not have made it past their intro in some gold boots. It usually happens it situations when the Ques are off the yard or are under snactions and have to be on their best behavior.
You have to be insecure in your self to cop someone else's stylo. But then again, how else can the weak and unoriginal get props that they haven't earned.

Seems that that's what it takes to "win". In the past months, I have had to do double takes. Everyone wearing gold boots, frats using canes (and I am not talking of the usual two) etc. No purity it seems, but hey, what do I know?

Who had on gold boots? I hope it was the Alpha's but still. It's funny you were talking about the cane thing b/c I had a neo ask me if I ever saw Ques or Alphas step w/ canes. I'm 4 yrs old & I haven't, not even in tributes/disses. I come from an old blue & white family & it pains me to see people take traditional steps or even beats & use them as their own. I saw kappas doing rock the bells. Bros had to hold me back.

I have seen another male NPHC groups step with gold boots. I am sure you don't have to think to hard to figure out which one. I heard that on a particular yard they jam to a particular "atomic" song. Left to some, I guess the line would be blurred to oblivion
