Talking Gamma Iota Chapter--woo woo!

Ladies,

I have some exciting things to share:

First:
The ladies of the Gamma Iota chapter at Texas Tech University won Greek Week! We just found out today. To win, we had to participate in a variety of events from soapbox racing to obstacle courses to attendance. All IFC, NPC, NPHC and Multicultural Council Greek-letter organizations on the Tech campus competed and we came out number one overall!

Second:
Our campus newspaper, The University Daily does a readers poll every year and at the end of the year publishes a "Best of Lubbock/Tech." I am proud to announce that for the FOURTH CONSECUTIVE YEAR the Texas Tech Alpha Phis have won Best Student Organization at Texas Tech!!

Hooray for Alpha Phi! I am so proud of my girls!

AOE,
Jen

Was one of your sisters involved in that car accident? If so, is she okay?

Congrats & AAUGHH!

OK-I want to say congrats, but first I have to scream! I have tried to post this note 3 times & if it doesn't work this time, then I guess I will just give up!!! (ok, I'm better now.)

Hey TechAPhi-

Congrats, congrats, congrats on 2 outstanding accomplishments!

I live in Lubbock & am learning about Tech's panhellenic system...winning Greek Week & Best Student Organization on such a large campus, with such a strong Greek system is really something to brag about!

Thanks for the update (I don't get to school early enough to get a UD before they are all gone! You'd think law students would be worried about studying for finals instead of crossword puzzles!)...anyway, just wanted to say great job from another Greek in West Texas! Best wishes on making next year #5 as Best Student Org!

p.s. Are you a collegian or an alum? Sorry-I'm just confused by the Atlanta thing on your profile...I'm sure you've clarified that somewhere else, but I'm relatively new here! OK, I just got the answer to my question from another thread. DUH! Did you design their existing web-site? It is the best I've seen of the Tech sorority web-sites...what a great tool (we didn't have web-sites in my day.........and I'm not that old!)

Talking Thank you !!!!!

Hi Ladies,

First, thank you all for the congrats! I hope you don't mind my little Texas brag. I am very proud of the chapter. ;-)

Second, someone asked whether one of our Alpha Phi girls was in an accident. Yes. The driver, a Kappa Kappa Gamma at TTU, was killed and our Alpha Phi sister was seriously injured. It was touch and go at first, but she has come out of her coma. She is awake and is slowly remembering the things she had forgotten. She is moving to rehab. She is hopeful that she will be back at TTU in the fall. All things considered, she was very lucky to have made it out alive.

I am an Alpha Phi alumna. I am the Marketing Advisor and Webmaster for the Texas Tech Chapter of Alpha Phi. My hubby went to medical school at Texas Tech and when he got his residency in Atlanta, the Chapter Advisor asked me to stay on as an advisor. My girls and I keep in close contact everyday by e-mail and AOL Instant Messenger.

Yep! I designed our site and maintain it. I am in the process of adding some new scrapbooks and a special recruitment 2002 section, so if you're interested, please do check it out. Thank you for the compliment about the site. I really enjoy doing it. It is my #1 hobby. We didn't have websites in my day either--we were just getting e-mail at that time!

Thanks again ladies--especially to the sweet Delta Zeta sisters for their kind support. I appreciate that.

Jen
