Old School dances....

Do you remember growing up and the latest dances would ome out and you and your friends would gather around to learn them?

I remember these dances and I still rock them when certain songs come on at a party.

1. Smurf
2. pac-man
3. Roof-top
4. Pee-wee Herman
5. Fila
6. Reebok
7. Cabbage patch (it gets the party going )
8. Running man (okay I have not did the running man in a minute.)
9. Heel and toe (certain reggae songs.)
10. Pepper seed (same as above)
11. Butterfly (I never got the my legs to work like that)
12. Bank head (bounce...I was the queen of the bank head on the campus of NSU- Norfolk State universoty Behold the Green and Gold!!!)

I thought this might jar your memory.

Oooh, I had forgot about the Tootsie Roll. That used to be my dance. Since you mentioned Tootsie Roll, what about the Butterfly. These dances were used interchangeably. The only difference was the Tootsie Roll we did it backwards naming it the Reversed Butterfly. Oh yeah the MC Hammer. How many of ya'll used to try and do the routines MC Hammer did. I know me and my crew was on top of all of it. Y'all remember the Perculator. I know different cities did it diffrently.

Talking 30

OH BOY!!!

Some of those dances are bringing me back!

I could NEVER get that Heal Toe thing.

I was listening to my '83 - '85 tape I made when I was in Junior High.

1. The Pee Wee Herman
2. The Wop
3. The Tootsie Roll ('95 South and the boys 69....)
4. When I was a little girl there was a dance called the Spank. We used to do it to the Carwash song.
5. The Kid -n- Play
6. I don't remember the names of the dances....but check out the Heavy D and The Boyz video (Yes, I have it) and I used to "try" and do all the dances they did
7. It Takes two to make a thing go right....you all know that wild chick....You can put a back out doing that!
8. The Electric slide of course
9. The Swim
10. The Carlton (It's not unusual to be Loved by you.....Fresh Prince....work with me)

That's all I can think of...for now.

The Cha Cha Slide is World Wide. I din't mention it because the post stated Old School Jam and the Cha Cha Slide is basically still in the new category.

What about the Chinese Checkers? Or is this a Memphis Thing?
Yall member the Guess and the Gucci and the Wild Thing and the Gigalo--Yeah I took it Way, Way, Way, Way, Way Back.
