Cousins?

Hello Zeta Sorors and SGRho SisterFriends
Have you ever heard Sigma Gamma Rho and Zeta Phi Beta being called cousins?

I heard this and I was just curious where it comes from, or if anyone else knew about it.

Is based on our colors or something else?

Some sorors and I were in a mall and a SGRho lady in passing greet us with "Whassup Cousins!". We just said whassup, but a couple of us were puzzled. One soror explained that sometimes SGRhos and Zetas call each other cousins, but she wasn't sure why.
I asked another sorors had they heard this and some said that they had. My "big sister" heard it before, but she wasn't sure why other than the common color Royal Blue. But were were tight with the SGRhos at my school too.

Sisterfriend,

When I was made a Sigma in spr. 83' the Zetas and SGrhos called each other cousins. And most people just accepted it because our organizations usually work well together! I pledged at the University of Delaware!

Smile Cool

Here at UAB the we have a bluetiful relationship with the lovely ladies of ZETA PHI BETA, but I never heard of referring to them as cousins though. Hmmmm, We are having an event tonight and I know that the ZETA'S will be there. Maybe I'll ask them if they have ever heard of it.

Hm.. that's interesting. I don't really have a problem with it since I have nothing but respect for Sigma Women, and anything that fosters a sense of sisterhood and friendship between organizations is cool in my book.

Thanks for the clarification, Soror!

Smile Must be sumthin' in tha wata...

We get along great with the Zetas at UAB. Maybe there's somethin' to the cousins thing, since a lot of soRHOrs/sisterfriends can attest to a good relationship between the two..... cool!

WHADDUP, CUZ!

Cousins

We get along very well with the Zetas here at Grambling too. I like the Zetas and I have much respect for them so I do not mind calling them "cousins". Let's take UNITY however we can get it!! After all, it's a BLUETIFUL thing!!

Hey SoRHOrs and SisterSorors of Zeta Phi Beta,
[COLOR=blue]We were pretty tight with the Zetas on my campus in 93. This is the first time I have heard of us calling each other cousins...I think it's cool!!! We always said "what's up blue" when we saw each other on the yard at my school. Now some SoRHOrs say EEEEEE-kitty and some Zetas may say Z-Yip. That's how I greet some of my online Zeta friends Isn't that right Miss Finer Woman 10-A-91 and Miss Pretty Kitty.
