Exclamation More on ebay and pin selling

I know we have all heard about sorority and fraternity pins being sold on ebay, and I think we all agree that it's just not cool if a member is selling his/her pin, but what about pins that are from a defunct organization, I see many of them on ebay from estate sales, and some of them are from really, really old organizations that don't exist any more. So there are probably no members of these groups online to "rescue" these fraternity/sorority badges. I bid on a couple of them, only because the thought of them eventually being "scrapped" makes me very, very sad. I am thinking of reasearching where these pins came from and possibly turning them over to historical archives of the schools they came from or perhaps a museum, if I can not contact anyone from said defunct group. What does everyone think of this?
Also, the latest Delta Zeta badge that is on ebay, just wanted everyone to know that I will rescue it.
