Badges...
Is anyone else having problems getting your badges? We sent in the money for nine (almost $1800!) in early december. They were ordered in mid december and now they just don't know if they have ever come in. I don't know what to do... they say 6-8 weeks, its been 16 weeks!! All I know is that I don't want our chapter to be the only ones at divisional still wearing their new member pins.
Any suggestions for getting them quicker??

Hey,
I know what you mean...we usually don't expect to get badges until the end of the following semester. Surprisingly...we actually had badges for the last initiation we held!!!! We were in disbelief. we believe the trick is to be nice to CO staff and to badger them...send emails and phone them as often as possible. In fact, the shingles usually come a full year after a woman's initiation, but we actually got last Fall's this week!! one is misspelled, but it is wonderful that we got them before our last meeting this semester!
I had always accepted the fact that they were just slow, but this year's archon (who is also bursar) wouldn't settle for that and she actually has a pretty good relationship with Laura W(STAFF) which has helped.
good luck getting your badges.

Don't worry, it's not just your chapter that is having problems with getting the badges on time... We haven't gotten our sisters badges from last semester, this semester, the dangles, and our mother's pins. We just improvise... Like for the mother's pins, we made our own pins, with gold and blue ribbons, and lil red roses. Then we attach them together with a saftey pin. They work just fine, until we get the actual pins in. I let one of the newly initiated sisters from last semester borrow my badge until she got hers... So I have been wearing my new member pin, or my founders pin, to everything since. And then two weeks ago, I pinned my new sapphire sister, with my new member pin. Thank God I was a founder, and have another pin!! Anyways, I just wanted to let you know, that you're not the only ones out there! LITP!

I just wanted to reassure you that you're not alone in the extremely slow process CO goes through to send out badges. Mine took almost ONE YEAR to come in and I was the only one initiated! I had to keep calling CO until someone helped me track it down and it turned out that they'd sent it to the wrong person. They mailed it to last year's archon who was already an alumni. I just think that they are a little lost there sometimes until you call and ask what's going on. I have been a sister for a year now and I still haven't received my certificate yet. I finally called and found out they lost one of my forms. I had to fill it out again and send it in. We have all come to accept the fact that Central Office is not very efficient when it comes to this stuff. My best advice is to call and make yourself aware of the status of your chapter's business with them. Otherwise, you'll never get anything from them. It also helps to be really friendly with them. Hang in there! You're not alone.

Solution!!!!
Contact the office manager, Dianne Macy. We have ours now, even though our gaurds will take another four weeks because they aren't stocked. We also found out that four other chapters (whos badges were ordered aproximately December 10ish) didn't get ordered. The order was for five different chapters and our jeweler *claims* they never recieved the faxed order from CO. Go figure.
The key is to keep at it. Thanks for all your support! I hope you have as good of luck as we did, sort of.

badges
hi ladies, yeah I understand the frustration with the badges, I was initiated in the fall of 2000 and I STILL haven't gotten mine UPS lost our badges and we haven't seen a penny from them. So good advice it's true just keep at it I'm hoping I will get it before I graduate...also It's kind of ironic that a lot of us are fighting to get our badges and then there are those people who are selling them on ebay it's ridiculous.....

true guess you could always buy the one on ebay. though its selling at 100 bucks now (actually it might cost more through the chapter, don't remember how much I paid). I actually have my sapphire sister's (phisigmeg01) badge which she passed down to me and she has my new member pin. Hopefully she won't have to wear it for long! Still, I got initiated spring 2002 and I was told not to expect mine until we are initiating sprinf 2003. That is really lame. CO needs to get their act together!

Yay! I got my Archon's Key! I haven't been archon for more than a year, but hey, better late than never. Today I wore it for the first time.
The chapter's delegate picked it up, along with badges and NM pins at convention. I hope your delegates were able to do the same...
So now everyone should have badges and pins and me and this past year's archon have our keys!!
(btw, they did lose our order too, but they cashed the check and our bursar is very particular about keeping track of everything)
