Arrow Ideas for good Greek PR...

Look, Im using the arrow

Okay... while I was at Borders this evening... I came up with some ideas:

1- When I was a Cheerleader, I got American Cheerleader Magazine (I admit, I still read it!) What are some thoughts on an All Greek Magazine? I dont know how many guys would be interested, but if there arent alot, maybe just an all sorority magazine? With interesting articles about fundraising, rush ideas, ways to keep people from killing eachother while living in the house... etc... kind of like GC in a way... IF YOURE INTERESTED: Please email me at PhiSigCutiePie@aol.com (notice this isnt the email I have listed form GC)

2- A website for all of this Positive Greek Image stuff... a way for media, etc to get a good look at what we do

3- I am going to Phi Sigma Sigma Leadership Training School August 2-5. While Im there, there will be sisters from every chapter. I can introduce this idea to alot of people! If someone would like to help me get together a pamphlet or something I can give them (aha, web site address?!) so they can take this idea back to their campuses- think of how much farther this will spread! I can also introduce the ideas to our National personel!

Please leave your comments for me here, or email me at either address!!!!!!

"...A dynamic sisterhood of powerful and passionate women maintaining uncompromising principles, igniting positive change, and embracing individuality!"

Phi Sigma Sigma - Gamma Gamma Chapter

1-9-4-6 Doohretsis!

Tau Beta Sigma - Delta Omicron Chapter

Go Golden Chickens! I mean EAGLES!

There are only a few good things that came out of Clarion- Chris Kirkpatrick of NSync, Kurt Angle (Pre WWF!) and any PHI SIGMA SIGMA!

Those are great ideas for good PR! Let's not forget about individuals. We are the best (and sometimes the worst) PR tool.

There's already a magazine like one you described for NPHC greeks. It's called Infinite Greek. Our own alpha1906 was featured in the Millenium 2000 Issue. Also, Black Voices Quarterly has some pretty good articles about the greek experience.

Cool

Ali - I seem to remember we (the chapter) got an all Greek magazine, called Collegiate Greek or something like that. It was a compilation of articles from the different national fraternity & sorority magazines. See if anyone else gets that or if they get a copy of it at Gemmell.

I think I remember Collegiate Greek. I haven't seen a copy of it for a while, but I remember coming across an issue while digging through boxes o stuff.

Now this is really O/T!

PS...4 years after high school and I too still read American Cheerleader Magazine. I like knowing the new and improved things that they're doing. I also can admit that I look forward to HS homecoming every October because it's the only opportunity for me and the old squad to relive old memories.

I was on my way back home from Texas last week and found myself surrounded by an entire cheerleading squad. They were all heading to Atlanta for a competition. It shocked me because they were so young -- I'm guessing that most of the girls were no older than 12 or 13. I didn't realize that competitive cheering started so young (and I'm sure it's even younger than that after speaking to a couple of the mothers). I always think of high school when I think of cheerleading. Those little girls were serious about their competition, though!
