Ladies and Gentlemen

Would you ever consider eloping?

Can you think of any situations which would warrant you to do so?

If you have eloped, what was the reaction of your families? If you had it to do over, would you elope again?

I don't think I'd ever be able to elope. My mother and I are too close for me not to tell her that I plan on getting married. My mother knows me like the back of her hand and if she truly expressed to me and believed in her spirit that I shouldn't be with a certain person, then I'll definitely take that into consideration and pray about it. I would at least want family and friends who are close to me to share in my happiness. If/When I get married, the ceremony will be very, very small and personal with a big party/reception afterwards. If my parents don't like the guy or if I "feel" I shouldn't tell them about a person who is supposed to be so special in my life, then I probably shouldn't even be with that guy in the first place.

Thumbs up In a heartbeat

I already told my dude, I'm no longer interested in a wedding or a reception, I would LOVE to elope. I think that it would be romantic and intimate. He felt like our phamilies and friends would be upset, but I told him, this is US, not them. They can be mad, they will get over it. I see the headache people go thru planning these weddings and the money that's spent on them and the receptions, and that's money we could use to go to Africa or Europe. I'm all about eloping, and I don't even want Loverman to tell me, it can even be a surprise to me!

My wedding was in Las Vegas w/ no friends or family. It was just the 2 of us. I told my mother and friends beforehand that we were getting married in Vegas and I received mixed reactions. My mother was just happy that I was getting married and she isn't into weddings, so she was happy that we were being economical. She brought us appliances and bathroom stuff and gave us $5,000 since we were moving to another state and this would be our first time out of our parents house.

My friends were upset because they wanted to see a wedding but I think there would be lots of drama because my friends do not get along with each other.

I don't miss having a traditional wedding because I'm not into that type of planning and it is very stressful. I do enjoy going to weddings I just wouldn't want to plan one.

On a side note, March 24th is our 2 year anniversary and I have to say that it gets better every year.
