My big brother works for Phi Delta Theta GHQ, he's found out random things about the other Miami Triad fraternities. He mentioned that one of your founders was 14 years old (?) when he founded Sigma Chi. Ever hear about that? I think he also mentioned Sigma Chi's Alpha Chapter burnt down

AlphaGam you are right, one of our founders (James Parks Caldwell) was just 14 years old when he helped launch Sigma Chi. He actually graduated from Miami University at the age of 16. To help found a fraternity at 14, whoo boy....

And a big happy birthday to Sigma Chi.

AlphaGam,

The Alpha Chapter's house did have a fire last year. Wasn't it in December? Anyway, it didn't really burn down completely. The fire started on the second floor I believe, and did most of the damage to that floor and up. They are currently rebuilding right now. Why do I know this? I lived right across the street when it happened!

AlphaGam,

One brother was seriously injured. He was found passed out on the second floor due to smoke inhalation. The only reason they found him in the time they did was due to special infrared sensors the firemen were using. Otherwise, things might have been worse. But that fire brought the Greek community here together in support of them. Many brothers had no shoes or clothing, and donations were made to them. Our house is right down the street so we let them use our showers and stuff the next day while they were getting settled.

Congrats Sigma Chi! I actually just bought my boyfriend a Special Gift...and didn't know when to give it to him, so I guess I'll just say it's for the Anniversary now!

All my love to Sigma Chi,
