Post Russel Yates - The father of the 5 dead Texan Children

On Tim Live (Talk Christian Radio), the host, Dr. Tim Kimbel, made a statement about Russel Yates I thought I was the only one who felt that way.
(I found out today that a few more people feel the same way I do).

I blame Russel for the children's death. He is just as guilty as the wife.
He put his wife in that situation. She had five young children, newborn to an 8 year old. All her children was homeschool.
She was headed for a break down. Russel should have hired a nanny or governess to help his wife and children.

Russel should be on trial.

Post I agree...

I'm sure he knew that she was "overwhelmed and on the edge" to put it nicely-- that's probably why he's currently displaying such a level of guilt.

I wonder about the dynamics of that household. I mean, where was he--was he supporting her mentally and emotionally? Was he PHYSICALLY (they are his kids, so it's not "helping out" <--I HATE that phrase!) doing his part in raising the children? Or, was it one of those situations where he believes since he "works" (meaning outside the home) and in his opinion she doesn't "work" (meaning she WORKS as a stay-at-home-mom) that she should have no complaints, no worries, and take care of everything?

Anyone who's ever taken care of many young children simultaneously KNOWS that that's a lot of stress (good stress at times, yet still stressful) for one person to handle and stay sane--AND they both knew that she was admittedly on her way to mental unrest. They should have BOTH been practicing some form of BIRTH CONTROL, and those labor roles in that house needed to be split up; they should have worked as a team.

Hopefully they BOTH will ask for God's mercy and forgiveness and BOTH will get some healing and counseling after ALL OF THIS.

Point taken on her level of stress, ditto for the birth control. But, lets get serious...NO ONE told them to have 5 kids, and its a complete bullshit excuse that stress can get to ya, blah blah blah...it's amazing how every time something sick of this magnitude happens there always needs to be "someone" to blame, rather than the individual who actually committed the crime. Sure, I'm sure the stress can be overwhelming, but if anyone is going to legitimately try to use that as an excuse for killing 5 kids, well, they get negative points for intelligence and reasnableness at the very least. This means that every woman who raises kids while her husband is working has a legit excuse if she goes whack and offs someone? Equating his responsiblity with someone who killed her own kids though is a bit much...

He should have jail time-IMO he is just as responsible. H*E*L*L*O-he knew she was having problems yet continued to have sex and produce kids. It is getting to the point where we need to screen people to be parents-this society is getting worse day by day-urgggg

You are EXACTLY right. I felt the same way when John Walker Lindh's parents blamed his behavior on "rap music" and the Columbine killers' parents blamed their murderousness on "bullying."

I have not made any excuses for this woman's actions--I'm not capable of that--she is the only one who could attempt to do so. I have simply acknowledged that I am willing to emphathize and recognize the SERIOUS NATURE OF STRESS AND WHAT IT CAN DO TO THE HUMAN PSYCHE (as it did to Ms. Yates).

Um, isn't this a non sequitur--an argument that does not follow the statement I originally made? I merely agreed with a statement made by counting:

I have NOT excused nor used stress levels to exonerate anyone of guilt; rather, I feel that BOTH PARENTS should be held accountable for this crime. Let me break it down further: I BELIEVE THAT if TWO parents are present, TWO parents should raise the child(ren). All the time. All day. All night. Parenting is an exercise in the TEAMWORK AND RESPONSIBILITY OF BOTH PARTIES when two parents/guardians/responsible adults are present. Otherwise, if people are not willing to comply with this, then they need to go to the nearest pharmacy, planned parenthood clinic, vasectomist, gynecologist or abortionist--or abstain. It's as simple as that.

I ALSO BELIEVE THAT I have a right to my viewpoint (without anyone implying that it's "bullshit [...], negative [...] intelligence and [sic] reasnableness"). I stand by what I said, and I will reiterate: Hopefully they BOTH will ask for God's mercy and forgiveness and BOTH will get some healing and counseling after ALL OF THIS. He's the only one that's capable of true justice. After all, killing her for "justice" won't bring those kids back, now will it?

PS: Oh, and about all those points that you've been dispensing and deducting--are they the equivalent of those tickets you get when you win games at places like Dave and Buster's or the arcade at Chuck E. Cheese? Where do I go to cash mine in?
