Make the pounding stop!!!!!
Anyone have any good things to try and get you through the day when you have a killer headache and can't leave work? I've already taken tylenol but its not kicking in...

hmm well Aleve is GREAT on headaches..tylenol never works for me.. but if youre staring at a Computer screen it always seems to make it worse for me hmmm Have you eaten anything or are you usedto having caffine?? sorry this isnt really helping much I know.. but if you massage your temples for like 5 mins it usually helps too.

I thought it was caffiene related, but the cherry coke I had didn't do anything. I have so much writing to do today that I can't help but stare at a screen. Argh. I want to go home, curl up in my flannel sheets and nap.

I prefer Excederin for headaches. I don't know why, it just seems to work better. If you are doing a lot of closeup work, you can focus on something in the distance. The old temple rub helps momentarily and I THINK there's a spot on your hand you can massage ala accupunture/pressure point.

Since you have already taken pain medicine, try the natural approach......eat 2 bananas . I believe it increases you potassium levels which is some medicinal way, stops headaches. I've tried this before and its worked for me.

Justamom is right as usual -- that Excedrin for migraines works wonders, but I always have to eat a little something first so my tummy doesn't get upset. Caffeine helps as well, but you need something a lot stronger than cherry coke -- dark, strong coffee is better, at least for me. Otherwise, a good neck and shoulder rub is always helpful -- any hot steamy guys there who can help you out with that?

I wish I could have gotten a neck rub today! It went away for a little while but alas is back and its 9:43 p.m. Oh well, maybe some sleep will help.

Well next time you get a headache
drink a BIG glass of water -- most headaches are from dehydration.
If you want something fast Excedrin has caffein in it which helps it get into your system faster.
But if i have a really bad headache i take 4 ibuprofen it is 800mg -- the equivalent of ONE prescription strength ibuprophen
you can only take that dose 3 times a day though -- but ive never had a headache return so go figure
I like ibuprophen for its antiinflammatory properties -- good for swellings and such
