Welcome to Spring Rush! (Yahoo Article)

Some gems:

“If you’re black or Asian, you should be the hottest, smartest, richest, and most well-connected representative of your race if you want to get in."

“When guys talk about sorority rush, they’ll say, ‘I heard this sorority won rush.’ By that, they just mean that they got the hottest girls,” says a University of Michigan alumna. Columbia’s current Alpha Chi Omega handbook says the deciding factor for “winning” recruitment isn’t about having the strongest sisterhood—it is about selecting the prettiest girls who will in turn attract more fraternities for events.

Sorority Rush: the pregame to winning at life.

Well, that's... new and unique. I know that recruitment at my school is exceptionally non-competitive, it doesn't surprise me that looks factor into recruitment at competitive schools. I personally always looked for academics above everything else, but I know that realistically there were people who didn't care about it in my chapter. "Greeks are shallow and horrible people." Okay, Yahoo Beauty, I'm sure that there are no articles on your site telling woman that they need to improve themselves. *rolls eyes* Pot, meet Kettle.

The most ridiculous thing is that the chapter they criticized for using all blondes for hairstyle examples is practically all brunette, as one second looking at their Facebook page will show you.

This smells like an inside job, just sayin'.

My response:
NInjapoodle • just now

Ms. Duan,

Please better research your story. As a "journalist", you should know better.

Ms. Duan's Editing team,
How the hell did you let a piece like this get posted? Epic fail.
