What to do when you can't walk...
This was inspired by josh8o's thread "Bummed Out"...
I'm currently "grounded" because I am stuck on crutches for another month and a half, and can't drive (I'm sure you feel me amycat)
So I need some ideas on things to do when you are stuck in your room, with no hope of escaping anytime soon...

Read, have friends over, watch tv, surf the web, do homework, sleep, start a new hobby. There are many things you can do!

I feel you. Grocery shopping and getting my groceries up 3 flights of stairs with both arms out of commission was an interesting and painful experience today. But at least I have food to dull the pain. lol
I was on crutches for a long time with a knee injury a few years ago. I watched A LOT of movies, read, wrote, etc.
You could also work on your scrapbooks, make valentines for your sisters, friends and young relatives.
rent the first two seasons of Sex and the City--that will keep you occupied for awhile.

Thanks for the ideas!
I'm glad that I only have a month and a half to go on crutches, but I've been on these darned things since the week before Christmas. It wasn't such a big deal when I was chilling out at my parents house in Nor Cal after surgery, and had somebody to drive me around (i.e. mom), but now that I'm back in the LBC without the ability to drive I'm going positively stir-crazy.
Thanks for all the support!!!
Greek Love,
Andria

Well, I have been told there is a "lot" of things you can horizontally . . but I wouldn't want to make you blush by listing them all . . .

I'm so sorry to hear about your injury! I was on crutches once for a few weeks and the one thing I remember is that the pain in my knee was NOTHING compared to the pain in my arms from the damn things!
Hope you feel better soon!

When I had knee surgery I became a champ at crosswords...read a lot of wonderful books...and became an expert at video games.
I'm looking forward to that again during spring break when I'll once again become an invalid. My knee has once again gotten f'd up so I need to have a follow up. What a way to spend Spring Break, huh?

Thankfully I've never been on crutches but you could make all kinds of SK stuff for yourself and for you sisters, listen to music, get online, have a party in your room. invite your sisters over and have a sisterhood. ummmmmmm watch the birds from out of your window lol......thats about all I can think of

Well i am in the same boat. i was in an auto accident in december and am still in a full leg brace about 75% of the time. It really really sucks!
I spend most of my days watching tv, reading magazines, talking to friends on im, trying to cook new things that i have never tried, my nails look better then they EVER have!, and reading books (three i recommend: "bridget jones' diary". "getting over it", and "running in heels".) I don't know if its cold out where you are or if you have a porch or anything, but i go bundle up sit in the sun and read. it passes a lot of time.
you can always email me if you get bored. i talk to strangers all day now!
