Phi Mu on Hell's Kitchen tonight!
Watching now. This is the Eta Nu Chapter from CSU, Northridge but there are some SERIOUS Southern accents in those girls!

Me, too.... I hope like hell that her behavior was just an act, all put on to boost the ratings. I wanted to smack her.

I felt like the producers were going for the stereotypical sorority girl. At no time did they show any of them as being bright, educated women who belong to an organization that promotes social service. They were "party" girls from the moment they came down the stairs doing their cheer, the positive aspects of the sisterhood were not shown at all. I am sure that anything that was not part of the stereotype was edited out. Gordon Ramsey mentioned sisterhood and working together, but nothing was shown of them working together.

It's a cooking show. It's purpose was to cook for the 160th Anniversary party, not to showcase sorority sisterhood. I don't think anyone expected the girls to be the focus of the episode.
Yes, the blonde. I really don't understand what that was.
What we were wondering, is that this is our 162nd year, so when was this filmed?

Phi Mu was approached back in 2012 to film this. They mentioned it on their FB page. I agree that it wasn't supposed to be necessarily about the sorority. I don't see how people are jumping on these ladies because they "didn't show sisterhood" when they were on a cooking show. It's not like they were the ones cooking together.

Ah ok that makes sense. I didn't see their FB, just the post from Nationals mentioning the episode.
They made us proud and that's all that matters. But, there wasn't really any time for them to embarrass us lol they didn't show much of them!

PN_Mama00, Gordon Ramsey pointed out that the Phi Mus, as a sisterhood, have to work together to get anything done. He made this point since neither team seems to work well together. It would have been nice for the producers to focus on the girls working together-- "see, this is all coming together because they work together and don't spend their time back stabbing each other, now get back in that kitchen and perform the same way as the girls. WORK TOGETHER!" Instead, the producers wanted to focus on the the stereotypes. It is a cooking show, a cooking show in which the team members have to work together to get anything done correctly.

I laughed when the guys were complaining that they were moving the tables all over. I was like, yeah, you put together a floor plan but then when it's set up you realize you don't like it and have to go with trial and error. Trust me, dudes, these girls have moved similar tables allllll over their house/room.

Why would the producers give a shit about focusing on the sorority?! IT'S A SHOW ABOUT COOKING! The only reason Phi Mu was on there was for the chefs to cook for their anniversary party. Chill out. You're caring more than the Phi Mus are and we're all pretty damn proud of the tiny bit of airtime they got and how they portrayed themselves. If you want to watch a show where the producers focus on the sorority, looking up MTV's Sorority Life.

It's a guilty pleasure that I did actually used to watch MTV's Sorority Life. Now, I don't think you can even find it online. For more recent shows portraying sorority life of actual sorority members, check out Sorority Girls.

LMAO or Sorority Boys! (I've never heard of Sorority Girls?)
I'm pretty sure something happened with both Fraternity and Sorority Life. They never played reruns. I liked it.
