Suggestions for pledge mom

Hi everyone! So I just got initiated today and me and my newly initiated sisters are trying to figure out what to get our amazing pledge mom. She did so much for us and we are trying to figure out a way to pay her back. There's about 50 something of us and we're just lost on what we should do. She's also a senior if that helps, do any of you guys have suggestions?

One idea: you could decorate a wooden box for her, each of your pledge sisters could write her a letter thanking her for all that she did for you, you could put all the letters in the box and present it to her.

I like that idea!

I agree!!! Letters from each of her "little flock" will mean the world to her!

Congratulations on your initiation!

I like the idea of a wooden box with thank-you letters from each of you.

If you and your pledge sisters can knit and/or crochet, how about making squares that can be stitched together into a throw blanket? When my chapter advisor was expecting a baby, a few of us knit up some squares ... twelve 12"x12" squares make a nice little baby blanket. You could have a new member class bonding activity where those of you who know how to knit or crochet teach those who don't know how, and anyone with no interest in knitting or crocheting could chip in $ to buy the yarn if they choose to do so.

I've always been of a slightly different school of thought. For me, there is no better gift in these situations than a gift to our Foundation in my honor. I've received a lot of acknowledgement cards from the Foundation over the years and each one is special. In fact I still have one from the 1980's that was for a certain action that still touches me today.

Thank you so much @aephi! and thank you so much for all of your suggestions! I posted them on our group and we'll see what we all agree on!

some want to get her a giftcard but I feel like it will be annoying getting the money together and not as sentimental!

Definitely not a gift card.

Go with the sentimental route. This is something that she will treasure even more as the years go by. The box full of letters things is a special idea, doesn't cost any money, and only takes about 5 minutes per person. I love the quilt idea too if you have pledge sisters who would be willing to take on the extra time.

But please- I beg you- nothing at all that she can buy for herself. Definitely something that could only come from the group.

Just had a thought... it is really easy to make a personal photo book. My sister made wedding photo books instead of photo albums for family on www.MyPublisher.com It is a beautiful book. Snapfish is also a great site to make a book. They are not very expensive, either.

A nice photo book with pictures of all of you, with a note from each of you would be priceless to her and last a life time!
