I could not sleep last night either. Sometimes I will drink "Sleepy Time Tea" or if out of that take a 1/2 cup of thera flu since it is a drowsy medication and it chases the germs away as well.

If I can't sleep, I'll usually take some Tylenol PM.

Hot Tea or a Hot Toddie always works for me and if nothing else works Nyquil (sp) always does the job

I take one Benadryl capsule. It'll knock you and the germs out!

I drink a cup of warm milk with vanilla and sugar in it. I'm normally fast asleep before I even finish it.

Melatonin
SteelStrap,
Does the melatonin work if you are stressed? I have been soooo stressed lately that I can't fall asleep until around 5 or 6 am!!

I Normally pray when I can't go to sleep, because my Great Aunt always told me that God is trying to tell you something, or he wants you to talk to him Even if you don't know what it is, and I ususally go to sleep afterwards.

Hi Delta_Girl1913,
It has worked for me in times of stress, which happens a lot for me because I'm a newspaper reporter.
Usually, I take mine (one pill, these days made by Natrol) about 30 minutes to an hour before I go to bed. These days, I'm combining it with journaling and reading the Bible.

Have a nice hot cup 'o cocoa, and dig into my collection of videotaped game shows and watch them until I begin to fall asleep.
Either that or daydream about beautiful black women
