I'm not good at knowing who is and isn't Indie since I just listen to music and like what I like. I know two songs I really like that could be Indie are "Up in the Clouds" by Darwin Deez and "Constant Surprises" by Little Dragon. You could check them out!

Try some Josh Ritter--he's kind of more folk than indie, but he's a personal fave of mine (try "New Lover," "To the Dogs or Whoever," "The Curse," and "Kathleen" as some of his faster songs).
Also, the Decemberists ("The Mariner's Revenge" and "The Rake's Song" aren't exactly happy, but they will wake you up! Also "The Infanta," "16 Military Wives," "Yankee Bayonet," "Summersong," and "The Legionnaire's Lament") and the Mountain Goats ("Oceanographer's Choice," "Psalms 40:2")

You're welcome! Another song I like is "Live Your Life" by Yuna. I like happy quirky music but I tend to listen to very chill and relaxed music more. I believe it's more neo-soul that I listen to but again, I'm not good at knowing music types unless the artist is very mainstream and easy to classify.

I don't know if this falls in with your definition of "Indie", but I'd suggest the group Girlyman (Kittery Tide is a more upbeat one), Ryan Montbleau (75 and Sunny)...

Listen to this station for a bit.
xfm.co.uk
It is a British station and they will ask for a UK "post code" but that's easy enough to find. Many of the artists we consider "indie" I first heard on there.
(In a sad note, I was at Sears one day and heard Fitz & the Tantrums. YIKES)

In a Sears?? Like over the PA? That's almost as bad as when I heard the elevator music version of Guns and Roses the other day

Based on what you seem to like (indie dance pop), you should listen to the following:
Cut Copy ("Lights and Music", "Take Me Over", "Hearts on Fire")
The Naked and Famous ("Young Blood", "Punching in a Dream")
Robyn ("Dancing On My Own", "Time Machine")
Chromeo ("Bonafide Lovin", "Hot Mess", "Don't Turn the Lights On")
Yeasayer ("O.N.E.", "Ambling Alp", "Reagan's Skeleton")
Hot Chip ("Don't Deny Your Heart", "Ready for the Floor")
Divine Fits ("My Love Is Real", "Flaggin A Ride")
Foals ("My Number", "Spanish Sahara")
Little Dragon ("Ritual Union", "Nightlight")
Holy Ghost! ("Wait and See", "It's Not Over", "Say My Name")
I think you will like most of those.

Yes. Over the PA. And it was a Sears in a really lame mall, also.

Ditto on Foxes. Not sure if it's what you're looking for, but check out Ms Mr and Chvrches
