Veteran Writes Names of 2200 Servicemen Killed- From Memory!

Quote:
Close to 7,000 words and more than 2,200 names later, Ron White finally did it.

The U.S. Navy veteran recorded the names of the military fallen from Afghanistan on a makeshift wall in downtown Fort Worth on Thursday. And he did it all from memory.
Ron is a friend of mine from high school. He discovered his uncanny ability to remember things shortly after graduating, and has made a career teaching others how to improve their memory. You may have seen him on TV shows such as Superhumans or on any number of news programs. He has been the USA memory champ twice.

However, this feat beats all. As a navy veteran who served a stint in Afghanistan he has had a passion for all military personal, especially those serving so far away. He has been working since last May to memorize the names of all the fallen service personal who were serving in Afghanistan. I find this latest gesture so touching in addition to being unbelievably impressive.

Here is an interview that Ron did with CBS This Morning regarding memorizing all the fallen soldiers' names.

This summer he will be taking the monument wall (that he personally created and paid for) on a 30 city tour. At each stop he will write the 2190 names from memory.
