Cool How much time do you get?

How much time do you get off work for the holidays? Being a contract employee for GM, I get all their time. So, I'm off from noon 12/21 (i'm taking a half day) until start of work on 1/2. Granted I have auto shows that weekend after but its ok.

We're off from 12/21 to 1/2 as well! And that's in addition to our three weeks regular paid vacation.

You have a much better deal than me then! I'm just happy that I get more than Christmas day this year. Gotta love the "real" world.

Its a condition of my employment. haha Seriously, I've never had a job that has required any of its employees to work that week. But Hollywood more or less shuts down that week, so working would be useless, you'd get no one on the phone.

Wow! Y'all are really lucky! Art (my husband) has NO pdo's left (paid days off)!!!! He's looking to either take sick days or non-paid days so we can go to his brother's for the holidays. We're leaving here on Friday after work and coming home on Wednesday, so he only has to worry about 2 days (he gets Christmas off!)
For New Year's we're staying here, probably getting together with friends. We were looking at going away, but with the pdo problem, we can't do it! Ah well, New Year's in Tallahassee won't be that bad will it?! LOL!

You guys are so lucky.

We get Christmas Day and New Year's Day. We also get Christmas Eve this year, but we lost Presidents' Day to get it. We don't get New Year's Eve or any of the other days that week. But I have just enough vacation time to take that week off

My husband's company gets Christmas Day and New Year's Day, plus Christmas Eve, the day after Christmas, and New Year's Eve as floating holidays. They also just announced a shutdown for Thursday and Friday - employees can either burn vacation time or take it unpaid.

I have to work 99% of the holidays but I only work 10-12 days per month so that makes up for it

EVERY DAY is a day off for me! I am writing this posts while wearing sweats and pink fuzzy slippers. Oh, I do NOT miss the daily grind!

Seriously though, Happy Holidays to all of you!

Not as much as last year

Last year when I was withthe evil school district, we had 3 weeks off, but the rest of the time was pure HELL, so I'll gladly take this job with fewer holidays. I would be working 1/2 on Mon, off Tues, and Would come bac 1/2 on Wed, but since I am going outta town, I'll be off Monday Tues, Wed and come back Thurs Morning, I just have a lot of work to do here. I am sure I'll be taking some with me on the ole laptop.

Didnt know how much time Id be putting in here (were a startup) but I love it...

Lightbulb

I just got home yesterday (after turning in a takehome test an hour before I left for the airport), and I'm here until January 14th. Normally, I'd be out until 23rd, but I'm leaving for Rome then.

Cool

There are 5 people in today. We've all given ourselves promotions. I guess today is a good day...

As I had written in another post, you know that you are an adult when your number of vacation days goes from 100 to 10. Gotta love being an adult.
Happy Holidays!
