Wow...just wow. "Catfish" jokes aside, I still can't wrap my head around why someone would do that.

This story gave me the creeps.

What is WRONG with people? Seriously. Creepy creepy creepy.

While I don't really believe Notre Dame's version that Te'o is a fully innocent victim, for the sake of argument let's go with their story for a moment.

Are we really supposed to believe that 2 college students would "date" over twitter and phone calls, but that skype and facetime were never a part of the relationship? Even before the supposed car accident?

And why I am hearing two different dates on when their relationship started- in 2009 after the Stanford game vs. Oct of 2011?

Have I missed explanations to either of these questions?

This is just the most bizarre story.

Well I know I wouldn't but you should watch the Catfish show to see how people do all kinds of things like this and believe all kinds of lies about how they don't skype or why they don't meet etc. etc.

I think that there is a lot more to the story than we will ever know. It all sounds very strange to me.

Not to step on your toes or anything, FSUZeta but can we as a GC community please be more descriptive with thread titles? $10 says another thread will be created on this because users are just going to browse through titles before making a new thread. I know it's totally not a big deal, but it has definitely happened before and it's just a tad bit annoying.

Off my mini soapbox.

I am teaching organizational behavior in sport this semester and we had a field day with this story and the Lance Armstrong confessional tonight with Oprah. I told my students that if I was a pro athlete and had a skeleton in my closet this evening would be the time to set it free. No one would even notice.

Something ain't right somewhere.

At the least, Te'o isn't the sharpest tool in the shed.

Yea, it's way too convenient.

I wonder how he got "duped" when he "met" her. Hmm...
