Badge on ebay
Please consider this an inane conversation about how the badges being resold are a varied group. Very pretty things.

Actually we don't promote badges for sale on "that site" here, unless perhaps they are historically significant. Most of us do not want to encourage the sale of GLO badges to anyone with a buck. There are badges for nearly every organization for sale there every single day, even some really unusual & beautiful ones Those alumnae that rescue badges keep a close eye out there.

I may have made my statement totally wrongly. I had thought that some members preferred that they be able to try to rescue some of the older badges. And since I saw it just as it appeared to have been listed there, I only thought it might have been a positive thing to say something, just in case. I'm so sorry if i did something wrong.

Greatfulgamma, you definitely have the right intentions. The problem is that it's not only ZTAs or well wishers that can see these forums. By posting a badge here, you are giving that listing more visibility to everyone- including those you would not want to see it. Not only does it have the potential to increase competition, but prices as well.
I'm not aware of a specific badge rescue group for ZTA, but some GLOs do have formal or semi-formal rescue groups. They try to not only bring badges home but also coordinate bidding so that sister isn't bidding against sister.

Oh. So I should erase my original post? And learn as I go, of course.

Greatfulgramma, I want to say WELCOME, glad you are here, and I absolutely am green with envy over your creative user name.

Please don't apologize! It can be hard to figure out the "rules" sometimes. I have made the exact same mistake and got a gentle thump for it I know that I often see beautiful badges on Ebay & want to run over to the organization's forum and post it immediately. I restrain myself now!

We all learn as we go! Through trial and error what we've more or less come to consensus on is not to post active listings or anything that may aid a sale. However, discussion about badges (styles, changes over time, clasps, engraving, etc) and pictures of said badges are always welcome.
If you want to delete the line in your original post about the sale details (style/price/site) that'd be great, but up to you. At least you didn't post a link

And if you want to read and participate in an un-inane conversation about badges, do wander over to the "badge trends" forum, where you can ogle the varied groups.
I am just amazed at the variety of different badge possibilities within the same organizations.

And although currently Tri Delta doesn't have a bazillion badge options or combinations, those historic Tri Delta badges are enough to make my head explode. Besides, you guys have the trident. No one else has something so awesome. And, not that it matters, but you guys have Chuck Norris. I'm still that he went Tri Delta; Theta has pansies too, you know. Oh well.
(Greatfulgramma, when you have a few minutes, read this!)

Chuck AND the Trident
Oh yes, we DO have Chuck and the Trident! And please do check out the link provided above by AZTheta.
(with acknowledgement to Scully for this rendition of Chuck)
