I'm in the middle of attempting to put together Doctor Who costumes for myself and my boyfriend. He's going to be the 10th Doctor (because he has the hair and the pinstripe suit already) and I'm going to be the 11th Doctor (I wear a fez now. Fezzes are cool).

I dislike store-bought costumes. I find it lazy.

Just told my daughter and she loves this idea! She's mad because she can't get Dr. Who on cable in her dorm.

Not an original idea, I saw someone do this back at school a few years ago, but I'm thinking of being Carmen Sandiego.

I read a cute (low budget) idea online. While wearing a t-shirt that says "LIFE" hand out a bunch of lemons.

I'm going as a toddler from Toddlers and Tiaras--tutu with sparkles, sparkly top or tshirt, sash, tiara, and huge hair

Love these... so simple!

One of my sisters and a mutual friend last year on Halloween (from what I understand, they made these themselves!):

..And a pic of one of my friends with her sisters (Chi Os from Babson):

I love it! Are you going to wear a fez, or are you going the Stetson route? (Stetsons are cool too. )

That's what BitTorrent is for.

(Dear BBC: I did not say that.)

I helped a friend in college make a costume for her and her boyfriend. They were a toothbrush and tube of toothpaste. It wasn't too difficult and only took a couple of hours. He wore red sweats and we made the head and bristles of the toothbrush and attached it to the back of his head. The toothpaste tube was a little trickier, you need a sheet, some wire, small lampshade with elastic attached (the cap) and paint for the logo. They won the contest and a weekend trip to Gatlinburg. :-)

What about going as a Christmas tree? Wear green, pin ornaments to your clothes and put a gift bow on your head. Or maybe attach a star to a headband.

FEZ! Unfortunately it looks like my city's big Halloween party is the same night as a wedding I've already RSVPed for, so I may have to save this for next year
