A Game of Thrones Recruitment
FINALLY, my recruitment is here, and so is my recruitment story! Because I'm currently going through it, I probably won't update until a bit later but I really want to get started on it! It might be a bit obvious what school I'm at but if you do figure it out or want to know, please PM me because I'd rather not it be posted on here. I'm SUPER excited because I wasn't even sure if I'd be going through it or not. There's a pretty big Greek Life at my school which has 17 sororities which I've decided to name after characters from one of my absolute favorite tv show, Game of Thrones:
Robb
Brienne
Sansa
Varys
Stannis
Bran
Jon Snow
Theon
Cersei
Lord Tywin
Daenerys
Jamie
Tyrion
Arya
Joffrey
The Hound
Littlefinger
Today is Round 1 but like I said, because I don't really want this to be a live thread, I probably won't post again for a couple of days. But I'm keeping notes and writing it out already and will post as soon as I can!

I've read this entire book series and watch the HBO tv show and I love it! I will root for Tyrion.

You know what?
I'm going against the grain because these characters have gained my sympathy (1 had it all along)
Go: Jamie, Theon and The Hound

I am going to have to go with Tyrion because he's my favorite to read, but Arya's a close second.

Round One: Day One
Open House
I wasn't too nervous going into the first round. My school offers like a mock rush type thing in the Spring which I had went to, so I felt pretty comfortable and aware with what was going to happen. However, one thing that I was not expecting were the door chants! They were so out of the blue and felt so random, but it was whatever and I really enjoyed all of them. And so despite my initial shock, my day at the chapters went pretty well.
Theon: I was super ready to rush it up, and so going into here, I was determined to have a positive rush and I did! Everyone here, was super nice and I could tell that they were also intent on making the girls all feel welcome. And I liked it there.
Sansa: It was no secret going in, that this house was struggling with numbers, and I could definitely tell that some girls didn't even want to be there. Our RCs tried to encourage us to be nice and respectful but it was clearly obvious that some girls weren't/didn't care. In order to cope with our large numbers, half of us were put in a presentation and the other half were double rushed; but it was whatever, I ended up having a good conversation with my rusher and while I knew it wasn't the house for me, I did enjoy my time there.
Brienne: I had been to this house as part of that mock rush and had loved it, so I was definitely excited to be here. I had not the best conversations as before, but I still loved the house and people in it.
Lord Tywin: I really really liked it here. I had awesome conversations with everyone. I met a girl who was a senior who had the same major as me and was planning on doing exactly what I was and we bonded SO well. And there was a girl who just kept me cracking up the entire time. I really loved being there and was really excited about this house.
Robb: I was looking forward to this house because they had done some stuff that was really meaningful to me, and while I was happy to be there, I was a little disappointed because the conversations were not as deep as they were before and just when I felt like our conversation was opening up into something past the "where are you from" "what's your major" a new girl would come and take the rusher's spot. And yet, aside from their dreadful timing, I still wanted to be back because I knew that if I gave it time, I could really like this house.
Cersei: This house was awful for me. I was actually looking forward to here because a girl from my school was in this house, and the first girl I talked to here was super funny and nice but it went downhill from there. I could tell that the girls were not even interested in the conversations we were having. I mean I know it sucks asking "why'd you come out from recruitment?" like 50 times all the while trying to be upbeat, but it also sucks answering that question. And they were just so rude and showed such a lack of interest that I was immediately turned off.
Joffrey: On the flipside, I LOVED IT HERE. Everyone I talked to was so similar to me, that it was ridiculous. I had great conversations with everyone, and one girl and I got so into our discussion that she didn't even leave! When the next girl came to bump her, she just sat there and continued chatting with me up until it was time for us to go. I definitely wanted to come back here and was put in such a good mood after this house.
Bran: Out of the mock rush thing, this was my favorite house. And it was great to be back, I had actually been looking forward to here all day. However, none of my conversations were actually as good as they had been prior and one girl wasn't even listening to a word I was saying and kept looking everywhere else but me. So when the next one came to bump she said something that we weren't even talking about and I was more than a little frustrated/disappointed/offended. However, the girl who had bumped her was someone who I already knew which was good.
Jaime: I really wanted to like it here. I truly did, it was supposedly a "top group", but really, their philanthropy was something that I really cared about and really wanted to be a part of so I tried sooooo hard to like it here, but I really couldn't. The conversation was so awkward and repetitive and there were a lot of lags in it that it never really flowed.
Littlefinger: At this point of the day, I was exhausted, cold, and tired. So looking back, that definitely affected how I was in this house. I didn't feel like I was having the best conversations. And even though I tried to not, I felt like yawning every five seconds and I did even though I apologized after every time. I do wish that I had put more effort out though, because I feel that given some time, I could've been happy here.
This was the end of my day, and though we didn't prioritize houses until the end of day two if I could, it would've looked something like this:
Me keeping:
1. Lord Tywin
2. Joffrey
3. Brienne
4. Bran
5. Robb
6. Theon
Cutting:
1. Cersei
2. Jaime
3. Sansa
4. Littlefinger

I am so happy you are posting your recruitment story! So far I really like Joffrey!
I know someone is going to comment on this, so I'm just going to get it out of the way: you aren't "cutting" houses, just really preferencing. You can still get a house that you "cut" the next day. I know you're just accidentally using the wrong terminology, so no big deal, thought I'd just let you know.

I am already in love with this one. (I've totally been creeping all of the recruitment stories). I'm definitely going to root for Robb! He's sooo awesome, oops haha. Good luck!
