Greek System

Okay...
If were going to be a founder of a university, and I'm asuming you would want a greek system from the get go-who would you invite? Here's my list. Don't get offended if your orgs not on here. These would be ones I've had the most interaction with and know the most about. Plus, its only to start. Others can be added as Optimist University growns bigger and older.

Fraternities-

Sigma Alpha Epsilon-my cousin was/is at Youngstown State in Ohio. He's a good guy, so I guess they are too.

Pi Kappa Phi-my uncle's fraternity.

Phi Kappa Psi- another cousin is one. Plus, wilson was a good president.

LXA- you's good people.

Theta Chi- Yeah, since I'm one. Philosophically sound and morally secure. Alma Mater first, and Theta Chi for Alma Mater.

Sororites-

Tri-Sig. Read the post about the girls jacket if any confusion as to why. She was/is a tri sig, I believe.

Sigma Kappa. They seem cool. Plus, they have two different shades of purple, and ya can't go wrong with that.

Delta Zeta. The ones i know are nice. Plus, not too hard on the eyes.

Zeta Tau Alpha. I was at a party and one of the girls had a mirror keychain that said I heart ZTA. She was looking at herself in the back side of it that was just a mirror, looked up at me and said "Zeta serves many purposes."

Chi Omega. I love them.

Of course it will be a very pro greek campus, and everyone else is invited to expand there. But these orgs will be there before classes start. Only 10 at first, but there will space set aside for about 20-25 more. Nice houses too. Go OU.

ok, this is a cool thread!
I think I would invite:

Frats:
TKE-- bc my dad is one
Sigma Pi- The ones I know are really fun
KA- Its always good to have southern gentlemen
LXA- Just 'cuz I spent most of my college career hanging out with them.
Theta Xi- bc they are the only frat with a Xi in it and i think thats cool

Sororities:
AZD- bc I am one.
AOTT- Bc the ones I know from my school and other chapters are awesome!
KKG- Bc I am a legacy and most of the women in my family are Kappas.
TriSigma- Many of the ones I know from Elon were pretty cool and I like the skull and crossbones thing.
Phi Sigma Sigma- Many of my friends here at home are Phi Sigs.

Looks like we're trying to limit ourselves to five each, so:

Fraternities:

Delta Tau Delta -- Naturally. For all the reasons I volunteer.
Sigma Chi -- Knew/know a lot of good Sigs and great traditions.
Beta Theta Pi -- Some hard times right now, but a good National.
Delta Kappa Epsilon -- Fraternity of Presidents
Alpha Phi Alpha -- Can't forget our black brothers

Sororities:

Pi Beta Phi -- The most beautiful girls on campus in my day -- nice.
Chi Omega -- Brainy Beauties
Alpha Xi Delta -- Fuzzies were terminally cute and really nice.
Alpha Gamma Delta -- Like the Alpha Gams I knew a lot
Alpha Kappa Alpha -- See above

In a perfect world the reasons for number five in each list would be moot, but until perfection is realized I'll stand by the picks.

If any of the above choose not to colonize, the backups would be:

Lamda Chi Alpha -- Anyone who has Tom Earp has to be OK.

Alpha Delta Pi -- My Mother-in-law is one.

Thumbs up Cool Idea!

My 10 would be...

Sororities:
1) Alpha Gamma Delta - of course!
2) Sigma Kappa - because the chapter on my campus is pretty great...Strong sisterhood and philanthropy.
3) Zeta Tau Alpha - we don't have them on my campus but I have heard great things about them nationally.
4) Alpha Phi (see #5)...
5) and Gamma Phi Beta - because they are the other 2/3s of the Syracuse Triad and I would love to host "Triad Teas"!

Fraternities:
1) Delta Sigma Phi - I will always love the Delt Sigs! My Big Bro and best guy friend are Delt Sigs.
2) Lambda Chi Alpha - one of our leadership consultants once told me "AGDs grow up and marry Lambda Chis." Two of my chapter sisters are currently engaged to some!
3) Delta Tau Delta - these are really great guys on my campus!
4) Pi Kappa Alpha - they aren't on my campus either, but they were sooooo nice to us when we visited our AGD chapter at Wayne State.
5) Farmhouse - I really know nothing about this fraternity, but it would be fun to have a GLO named "Farmhouse" on my ficticious campus!

Based on what I have seen and who I have met at ASU, at my University I would have:
FRATERNITIES:
Delta Sig- hotties that are really nice and have an awesome house
Kappa Sig-gotta love Kappa Sig, our bid day party with them was soo fun!
Theta Chi- though some girls in our house have gotten in some trouble with these guys they are well respected and still fun.
SAE- these guys have just made a huge comeback. When I was out with some the other the night they are confidant that they will be "the best house pretty soon" They are true gentleman.
Sigma Chi- HOTTIES!!! Fun to party with and great to just chilll with
SORORITIES:
Alpha Delta Pi- First , Finest, and Forever
Chi Omega- I love my girls in Chi O. I went to Mazatlan with some of them over the summer and it was so fun.
Gamma Phi Beta -old roommate was one and they are so sweet.
Kappa Alpha Theta -awesome girls with great personalities!
Delta Gamma- Who doesn't love DG? They are the most amazing women on campus. I worked with some of them and they really are great.

Did everyone forget about Kappa Delta?
The sororities invited to my university would be :
KD, ADPi, Tri Delt, DG, XO, AOPi, SDT, AKA, SGR, DST (All of which are at my school now!), and ZTA, KAT, KKG, (I hear good things about these ladies)
The fraternities I would invite would be:
LXA, KS, SX, PhiDelt, SAE, SigEp,TKE, SN, Beta, DTD, APhiA, KAPsi, PhiBS
A nice even number of boys and girls...we have twice as many fraternities as sororities, but that's not a bad thing IMO!

Ooh...this is a fun one!

Fraternities:

Delta Tau Delta: The founding chapter is at my college, so I know a lot about them and like what they stand for.
Kappa Alpha: My boyfriend is one, and I love the southern gentleman thing!
Sigma Alpha Epsilon: I met a lot of the guys from the Duquesne and Carnegie Mellon chapters when I went to Duq, and liked how they were all about their fraternity and its standards.
Phi Delta Theta: Two of my best guy friends are Phi Delts, so they have to be great!

Sororities:
Kappa Delta: Well, I am one , and every sister I met has been extremely classy, friendly, and really living the life!
Zeta Tau Alpha: We have a good chapter here at Bethany, and I like what they stand for. Plus. the "We hear the call of Zeta" song gives me chills!
Tri-Delta: I have never met anyone in real life that is a Tri-Delt, but they seem to be a wonderful national organization!
Delta Gamma: One of our chapter advisors was a DG, (she was a founding sister for the Ohio U chapter!) and has told me a lot about how wonderful they are!
Theta Chi Alpha: I believe they were founded on Catholic principles, and I'm Catholic, so I think it would be neat to get to know more about them!

I do not know much about BGLOs, but they would definitely be on any campus of mine!

On my campus, we will have Phi Mu and all the fraternities.

If I was really going to pick, though:

Lambda Chi Alpha (Two sisters are lavaliered to choppers)
TKE (yeah, I am obligated to throw them in)
Sigma Phi Epsilon (I am in awe of Balanced Man)
Alpha Epsilon Pi (My big bro's frat)
Iota Phi Theta (So much respect for them on this campus)
