I'm more than willing to spend time on the phone, or skyping, or whatever you feel necessary before you decide to write me a letter of recommendation.
Any help is much appreciated!!
Thanks!!!

Have you registered with your local Panhellenic alumnae chapter?
Soliciting members of Greekchat for recs is not a great idea.

If you're not in a major city, Alumnae panhellenics are pretty rare. Birmingham doesn't have a fully operational one yet.
But if all she's done is e-mail and Facebook, all resources have not yet been exhausted. You have to TALK to people...in person and on the phone.
Also, you can go to the university's news bureau, type in "sorority pledging" and find previous year's lists of new members. Look through those for somebody from your town, or at least close to your town.
You can find that person and ask who did their recommendation.
Another method - go to your local newspaper website, and search for your chosen sorority name, and see what comes up. It may not work, but it's worth a try.
Don't give up. It's still early.

Did you ask the women who have written you recs for the other groups if they know any Alpha Gams?

i have asked a couple ..... but as we have so few AGD chapters in my area, there seems to be even fewer active & known alumni.

Alumn ae is the plural if all of the people in question are female. You'll impress potential rec-writers if you know that.

I love you my AGD not ADPi sister . I have to think of some term for you as we are in different sororities. My panhellenic sister? That is just so long. I'll think of something.

You could shorten panhellenic sister to PS

Check to see if there is a local woman's club in your area. In a larger city, there would likely be several. There is a General Federation of Women's Clubs that is national, a state federation of women's clubs under that, and then cities have local clubs under that. My city of about 250,000 population has three different women's clubs under the state federation, and many smaller towns of 30,000 or so population also have clubs within this federation. Find you local woman's club(s), write or call the club president, and ask if they can refer you to someone who is a sorority member. Try your local Junior League, too.
