IHQ Member database online?

I know some GLO's have their online and I was wondering if TKE ever plans to do so? It would make alumni relations better for all the ungrads because they can get the updated adressed real quick and active alums and brothers can let IHQ know easily of adress changes and the locations of missing brother adresses. Plus we could find out who passed away so we don't keep sending letters to them. This is a good question for all the people that work for IHQ on here that are members of greekchat.

I think this would be an excellent idea. When we were trying to look up alumni contact information, we only got about 400 valid addresses from IHQ. Our faculty advisor was able to find another 400 accurate addresses from the school here. We're still trying to figure out about the other 400, but It would be a lot easier if there were a database such as this that could be updated via the internet.

There has been some discussions, however the main concern is protecting the privacy of our members. I, for one, do not relish the idea of my home address and phone number being posted on the Internet for everyone to access at will - including non-members of our fraternity.

However, that is not to say that some type of records may become available on a restricted basis in the future. For now, it is my understanding that this is not a priority. Instead, TKE is working to provide more online services to the members and chapters.

we have an online database for my chapter on our webpage, and there's a login section for fraters who need to get addresses, phone numbers etc. it's password protected so its nice and private.

however, a chapter of 32 men and a fraterntiy of over 200,000 are two very different things. it would be a nice idea though.

and by the way frater t-rod, i absolutely love the tke.org webpage, i've seen other IHQ pages, no other fraternity out there matches out page in terms of overall content, user friendliness, and acessability.

I am sure that Frater Brian Ferber would be delighted to have your positive feedback regarding his efforts on the TKE Web page!

Be sure and send him an email. He loves good news!

Well if IHQ ever put it up on the web hopefully it would be a members only and ask mnay questions to prove you are a member. I know that one peticular GLO has an option to hide their info if they don't want it where everyone could see.

Thumbs up

If would help you guys, LXA has a thread on its site that is digital thread that only members can get into and that is where you can find fellow Brothers or at least the last known. That is if the Brother updates his address, phone #, ETC!

Being computor challanged at least I know it would take a lot of work!

Hope this may help!!!

I still really think TKE should have a members only site which would include a members database. Most GLO's have this in some form and which should catch up with the times.

Good idea!

We have a number of sites such as TKE-BS for online chatting between members, TKE-Volunteers for alumni only, and TKE-Info for submissions to TKE HQ.

In addition chapters may now register their new members directly online, plus other improvements are in the works and should be announced shortly.
