You are ALWAYS wearing your letters!
Positively AWESOME video posted on FB by the University of West Georgia Greek Life Office. It features Delta Zeta members wearing their letters but every Greek organization can substitute their letters and it will be just as meaningful.
(BTW, West Georgia does not have Delta Zeta on campus (at this time. )
A cool video just to remind you that you are always wearing your letters and representing your organization!
Evidently, it is from T.J. Sullivan, CAMPUSPEAK.

Would this be used before recruitment/at recruitment/after bid day - new member programming?
I love the idea but I'm not sure who it's aimed at

I would say as much as possible. Maybe if pnms saw it, they would know what is expected of them so if they were not going to do it, Greek life is not for them.

This is based on the blog post by the same person:
http://apathymyth.blogspot.com/2010/...r-letters.html
http://www.greekchat.com/gcforums/sh...d.php?t=112579
I actually think this kind of messaging would be appropriate in a Preference ceremony (toned down, of course). I think there's something very powerful about discussing the kind of rigorous expectations of future new members before they join - I've heard too much messaging aimed at PNMs that seeks to dispel many of the myths and bad reputations of Greek life, but they also minimize many of the responsibilities. Some PNMs are definitely going into the recruitment process not fully understanding what joining an organization means in terms of time and financial commitment, or behavioral expectations.

I liked the idea behind the video. It's the truth.

I saw this video last week and fell in love with it! I joined my organization as a senior, but my indirect involvement in Greek life over the past 4 years made me realize the commitment I was about to make when I received my bid. Seeing this put into words so much of what I wanted to jump up and down telling younger girls being in a sorority meant. If anyone who was involved in making the video reads this, bravo!

This may be old news, but I found a slightly newer version that features all councils from San Diego State

Love that video! We watched it in chapter and there was not a dry eye in the room. As for when to show it, I feel like it would be powerful coming from Panhellenic to all the PNMs at a later point in the week- that way, the message is clear that these responsibilities are for all the groups on campus, not just one. If just one or some of the groups showed it, PNMs might think it was a group-specific concept.

This video is great because it takes TJ Sullivan's "Always Wearing your Letters" and puts it into a video about joining a sorority. Check it out. Made me tear up...
