LSU - SEC West Champs!
Victory was sweet in Tiger Stadium last night. Auburn got their asses handed to them, and boy did they deserve it. Not just because they had beaten us at home in 1999 (that game was just horrible. I, along with the entire student section, sat down because it was just too sad) but because of their pissy attitude. (Yeah, go ahead and stand on our tiger eye - you'll lose 15 yards and we'll intercept the kickoff to you and run it for a touchdown)
It was an amazing game, and amazing end to my last football season at LSU. I was amongst the thousands that rushed the field to celebrate. And, yes, I have a cup full of endzone turf.
Congrats to the UT Vols - we'll see you next week in Atlanta. And in this rematch, victory, and the Sugar Bowl will be ours

Sorry sista. LSU has had a good season, but you guys are getting tooled on by UT next week. Then again, Nebraska had 62 points put up on em, so I guess anything is possible.

LSU was definitely the better team last night and congratulations. I'm so happy that they will be playing the Vols next week instead of the Gators I have to digress though and agree with PKTSU01 and say that Tennessee will probably come away with the win. It's all up for grabs though and hopefully it will be a good game.
In regards to Auburn's "unsportsman-like conduct" I find it very interesting that they actually received a penalty for it. Teams come in to FSU's staduim all the time and "stomp" on the Seminole head in the middle of our field. No one has EVER received a penalty for it Did anyone see Damon Duval (AU's kicker) come out during half time and start pushing LSU's band members? Now that was stupid. I'm surprised the refs didn't do/say something about that.

Yeah, we saw the whole incident with the band. Auburn just has a bad attitude. The coach too. Last time they beat us, they lit up cigars on the field. You'd better believe the LSU students had the cigars last night.
As for the TN-LSU game next week, I really think its up for grabs. Our game against TN in October wasn't that terrible. Not great, but it wasn't a total blowout either. It was just some sloppy playing. But next week, its for keeps, and I think that LSU is going to play their heart out.
The only thing that concerns me about LSU getting the Sugar Bowl is the fact that it will probably hurt the hotel industry. A LOT of people live within an hour of the dome and just won't book a hotel like all the other fans from far off will do. I'd hate to see my hometown take a hit when tourisim is already in a slump

Plus it would be a virtual home game for LSU meaning win. So that aspect would be huge

I had not heard about the cigar incident until last night while watching the game. In regards to Auburn having a bad attitude, I have not seen it to be a widespread thing. I'm not saying that Auburn didn't act like jerks towards LSU...they did. But I would say that Auburn generally behaves more classy then these recent displays. I have been to countless football games in my life around the country (growing up and then going to almost every single FSU game with the band for 4 years) and I think Auburn fans are pretty good. Yes, I am an Auburn fan, but I am trying to be objective. (ex. I will be an FSU alum in 2 weeks but I have to say our fans can be pretty crude, unfortunately) There are some universities that I will probably never go back to because the fans were so disgusting and violent. juniorgrrl--I'm sorry that your (and LSU fans) experience has been so bad with Auburn. Hopefully they can get their act together.

Congrats to LSU! They are my #2 favorite team (behind UT of course) - and it will be tough for me to watch next week! I think UT's win over Florida was for everyone in the SEC who gets beat by Florida

We have an "eye of the tiger" painted on the 50 yard line. Before the game started, AU decided to stomp on it, instead of clearing the field, like they should.
So, we started the kickoff 15 yards back from where it should have been - they lost 15 yards. And then, we were able to get the ball back from them on the kickoff and then in the next play, we ran it for a touchdown.

Ha! Good, I'm glad. That is so classless to do that, IMHO.
Speaking of football, my Pitt Panthers just got an invitation to the Tangerine Bowl to play either NC State or Clemson. Woo Hoo! Hey, it's not the Sugar Bowl but at least they're going to one!

All I have to say is GEAUX TIGERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That game last night was sooooo amazing!!!!! I still can't talk because I was screaming so much. I'm so happy for our guys. I honestly had no doubt in my mind that the game was ours. That was a huge game and I knew the team would show up ready to play and the fans would show up ready to scream. In regards to the whole "stomping on the tiger eye" thing. That was so tacky. Tuberville and his team have absolutely no class in my opinion. But hey...we got the kickoff back and kicked their asses in the mean time. And I think that Damon Duval should have gotten his ass kicked by our band for coming out during halftime and standing on the field. I know that half of the greek section was ready to pound on him.
I have to agree with you juniorgrrl about us getting beat by UT next week. I honestly think it's anyone's game because the first time around we just played sloppy. I know our guys don't want to go to Atlanta and lose to UT for a second time this season. I'll be happy no matter what the outcome is next week. I'm just so excited that our guys get a shot at the championship. What a way for our seniors to go out!!!!
GEAUX TIGERS!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wish I could have been there last night in Tiger Stadium. I caught some of the game on ESPN,but it's just not the same.
About the whole Auburn players stomping on the eye thing,it sad,but really does not surprise me. Last season during basketball season,an Alabama player felt the need to come over to the student section and taunt our after a game.
Betarulz-I'm crossing fingers and toes that we beat the tar out of the Vols next week. I am not a huge Vols fan and would like to see anybody but Tenn go to the Rose Bowl

Well dang, I would think there would be a lot of teams people would rather see go to the Rose Bowl over Tennessee....I mean our players and coaches are always friendly and show good sportsmanship, we dont run the score up on weaker teams just to prove a point and we always pick a challenging schedule....I mean Florida plays people like mtsu and marshall and la monroe...so obviously they win every game bc they dont have competition.
