NEED INFO PLEASE!

so i was recently asked to disaffiliate from my sorority due to grades. they just recently (this semester actually) changed the rules concerning grades, to where they go by your gpa for the SEMESTER & not by you overall gpa. if they hadn't had done this i would still be in good standing, but because of the change, i'm not. i am just borderline to the gpa needed & i was wondering if it was possible if i raise my gpa to the one they want, if i could ever rejoin the same sorority. can someone help me out & give me some information as to what i could do, i love my sorority & i'm not anywhere near ready to say goodbye

i've been in the sorority for two semesters. when i rushed my GPA was well above that, that same semester however i failed one class & my GPA dropped but was still above 2.25. then the next semester (fall 2011) i didn't fail any classes but i didn't do super good either & the overall gpa dropped to just below 2.25 BUT i like i said, they recently changed the rules concerning grades to where they take you gpa PER SEMESTER not you OVERALL gpa. i think nationally they do it by your overall gpa but we decided to change this in hopes of raising our gpa as a chapter... how does this effect things?
i've never had any problems with my sorority we are a smaller & close knit group. i know alot of the girls were shocked when i told them they were asking me to completely disaffiliate....

You need to talk to an advisor or someone at your HQ, stat. As you are telling it, your grades were bad for one semester, and they want to kick you out. That's...really extreme, and I have never heard of such a policy applied by a national organization. Many take away privileges and such things, but I'd be surprised if they were trying to get rid of you, unless you aren't giving us the whole story, here.

Who is asking you to disaffiliate? If it's your executive board, then yes, you need to go over their heads.

I am going to guess from your screen name that you are an SDT. If so, I'm fairly certain that the chapter itself can not kick you out without approval from higher levels of the organization. They can try to pressure you to leave, but they can't actually kick you out.

So, if they've asked you, and you say "no", then what?

Also: stop failing classes.
