My program is completely online so all assignments are submitted online. I suspect this would work although the file size would really need to be high enough to make it look like an actual paper. It would probably also give me several weeks to actually do the paper because most of my profs don't grade anything for weeks and weeks, sometimes not until the last week of class (which is super annoying). So yeah, this could possibly work for me. But I wouldn't risk it My professors are IT security professionals who can probably recover text from any file using the Recover Text option when opening it.

The majority of my assignments are turned in via email but I have never tried this.

I just suck it up and start the paper a 3am and finish it by 1:40pm when it's due at 2pm.

Usually, though, my professors say 'if you think there will be a problem, turn it in early, b/c once it's past the due date, oh well.'
