I don't know what "an importance" is or if that's a typo, but if you're talking about a personal note to share (or you're possibly speaking at preference?) you need to think about why your membership is important to you and share THAT. For some it's the leadership they were able to achieve, for some it's the concept of sisterhood. For others, they can share a trying/sad/emotional time in their life when her sisters really came through. But none of this matters about what other girls said. Whatever you do will be a big FAIL if it's not authentic to you. This is not the time to be too cool for school. Share what you really feel, and hopefully that will be meaningful to the girls who are confused and looking for guidance. And if you really can't do that, you need to let your membership chair/VP/whatever know so she can get you replaced.

Also, remember you are speaking to the PNMs about your sisterhoood, not speaking to your sisterhood and the PNMs are there to watch. Avoid inside jokes or purposefully heart wrenching statements to make your sisters cry.

You should be trying to help the PNMs feel your sisterhood inside themselves, not watching it on the outside.

Please don't use the time to share something heartbreaking or newsbreaking for the first time. Nothing that will make you cry so much that you can't finish what you're saying, and nothing that will make the sisters cry so much that they cause a scene. I was at one pref when a sister announced her engagement (exciting, but the sisters were all like "Um, we don't get to have a candle pass?") and another time a sister picked pref as the night to tell us that her father had died over the summer. Remember that the PNMs don't know you or the other sisters well enough to feel the kind of emotions you do, so they will feel awkward if everyone is crying and they're not.
