Talking HGTV

This thread was inevitable. I know I'm not the only person who loves this channel and the website.

My favorite shows:

House Hunters
House Hunters International
Holmes Inspection
My First Place
Property Virgins

What are your favorite shows?
Care and share about HGTV.

I work in real estate, and I love seeing the business portrayed objectively and realistically (unlike, say, Million Dollar Listing). Absolutely love Selling New York, although the commissions portrayed on the show are very misleading which bugs me (the commissions shown, mathematically, are for the brokerage AND the agent for BOTH sides of the transaction, but they are portrayed as what the agent for one side earns). I really like House Hunters because it is shocking to see the differences in value from one part of the country to the other, and House Hunters International is fascinating just because of the different types of property.

Don't really watch anything else, but love those three shows.

As for Bravo, I stopped watching Million Dollar Listing for that very reason. I still watch Flipping Out because they are hilarious and it shows some of the struggles of real estate.

As for HGTV, I love watching House Hunters in cities I have never lived in/am unfamiliar with because I always say "that house would've been $150K and not $500K" or "that apartment would've been $700/month and not $1,500/month."

I like House Hunters. I also liked Property Ladder for a long time but I'm not sure they are still producing that one.

I wish someone would come in and re-do my house

The ones that focus on staging a house to sell it always crack me up. I always wonder if, after getting it all fixed up, the owner ever thinks "If it looked like this before, I wouldn't have wanted to sell it!"

Yet another channel that makes me unproductive.

I don't know if they still show all of these, but these are the ones I watch/have watched:

Color Splash
Design On A Dime
My First Place
Design Star
FreeStyle
Mission: Organization

I love it, too! My husband hates it...but since they took Turner Classic Movies off our cable, I catch him watching.
The problem is, the times I watch - 10 p.m. or later - the ONLY thing on is House Hunters, HH Int'l and Property Virgins.
Do they even have redecorating shows anymore?

I like all of the house hunting shows but my absolute favorite it Property Virgins. I'm actually considering trying to get on that show when the time comes to buy a house. I'm also convinced that Sandra Rigli-whatever is drunk in a few of the episodes.

1. Selling New York. Never miss an episode!
2. House Hunters International
3. House Hunters
4. Property Virgins (it shows how many people are clueless)

I absolutely hate Million Dollar Listing. I'm not sure if it is because I have zero interest in LA Real Estate or that I can't stand how unprofessional the brokers are.
