Post Research.

I apologize in advance if my post may offend anyone. This thread is not specific at all, it geared to all NPHC orgs, however I did not know where exactly to post this thread as I am fairly new to greek chat.

On the internet and on discussion boards I always see members of the NPHC advising interested persons of these organizations to do their research. I was wondering If anyone had any particular books or sources that they would reccommend to us "newbies" to assist in our research?

Also, what would be the correct or most appropriate way to approach members of the desired organization to let them know of your interest?

I am not sure too many people will respond to this as finding out on your own is part of the expectations that a lot of NPHC members have....or so I have experienced. However, I am not a member so I can throw you a bone...check out a book called the Divine Nine. I think it is a good foundational piece of literature. It will tell you a little something about all of the NPHC and maybe give you a few leads on some other things you would enjoy looking into.

national website

I remember in undergrad, we would have to share the limited copies of the organization's history books, available in the campus library. However, the internet has made a lot of information quite accessible. My suggestion would be to start with the national website of the organization. I cannot offer any other assistance, but the national website will provide you with all of the information that you need to know.
